As players become bigger and the defending gets better year by year I'm sure that eventually some team will find some gifted drop goal kicker and just have him attempt one every time they near the 22. Would revolutionise the game and necessitate rules changes.

There has been talk of six point tries and two points for all kicks, which makes sense if the game becomes a kicking-fest.

I've always been a fan of that, but we don't know how bad rule-breaking play would become.

Rules changes are sometimes necessary, though. The recent changes to how the scrum begins have been fantastic and were long overdue.

As a neutral, this game really hasn't taken off at all yet, has it :(

That's why the Welsh second league is doing a trial run of it this season.

Bad phase for Wales, feels like a matter of time before England get a try.
That is how I am feeling. Wales do not look like they can score a try at this point, but merely competently stop England on 9/10 attempts.

Edit: Well fuck.

South Africa had a gameplan based almost entirely around kicking around 2009 but then the rules/interpretations changed and suddenly it wasn't so effective the next year.

I don't really think defending is getting better year by year though, just different, and there's always weaknesses to exploit.

England are looking far too strong for Wales.

Well that's that pretty much over.

Terrible defending from Wales. Never shifted over at all, and biting on every decoy.

Super play by England. Wales in big trouble. Leaving one man on the blindside is schoolboy.

It always looks like the try scorer doesn't touch down properly to me, lol.

Wales are about get blown away here. Massive gaps in defense, not making gains in attack, and their set pieces are completely failing them.

If we don't lessen the points gap before half time I can't see us making up the difference the way we're playing. Pretty poor stuff up to now.

England's scrum is still quite poor. There's no control in the front row and it's so unsteady.

Welsh line out is a shambles as per. Been poor for years.
