I really hate the itv broadcasters describing USA as a tier 2 team. The US and others may not be a fantastic team, but the attitude that rugby is divided into tiers during the world up is so patronising.

The USA is a Tier 2 team though, there are also Tier 3 teams. It's no more patronising than the world rankings, teams move between the tiers by beating other teams. It's a very simple league system.

They can do but unlike rankings it's not purely down to game performance as it takes into account thing like the tournaments the teams play in, the investment in the sport and how much development the IRB are wanting in those nations. Although the ultimate goal is, of course, to be the best team in the world, there are benefits to teams outside of Tier 1 and there's even been talk of a second world tournament which excludes the tier 1 Nations.

Anyway, I really don't se Ireland having having issues in this match, I do always like to support the team seen as the the underdog...apart from when they're playing against us or the result affects us negatively in some way. :0

Some nice phase play from Ireland but Romania are doing well to sack our attack mauls in their 22. We should be further ahead if it weren't for some handling errors near their try line.

We've made 45 tackles to Romania's 103. If we keep the tempo up they'll start to struggle in the final 20 minutes.
