Rumor: Quantum Break delayed to early 2016

In my opinion the game could be ready for 2015, but Microsoft, having already Tomb Raider and Halo 5 this fall, wants to delay Quantum Break to early next year, when there won't be so many good games, and it could sell better

It was definitely scaled back.

IIRC it was talked about as a full blown TV show originally and now it's just some live action scenes between game chapters.

They've never tried to say they were going to air it. I'm pretty sure it was always going to be all on the disc because I don't know how it would work otherwise with the game decisions affecting the "show".

Tales from my ass? What do you know about the current development status of quantum break?

Oh, cool. You should just go ahead and tell them to release it in 2015 then. Problem solved.

Wrap the thread up guys, we're done here!

I'm hyped for Halo 5 and Forza 6 (just to see if Turn10 will try to screw us again) but if MS doesn't start dropping other First Party games in the winter than Forza/Fable/Halo I might have to trade my Xbox in for a PS4.

Why is it that literally every time I look a console-related tweet, Tim Dogg is already there.

Um, because he's an industry insider with his fingertip on the pulse of gaming community!

Also, because he and that entire group of twitter clowns fight console wars day in and day out. I can't understand how they never get tired of it.

It's a Remedy game, so I wasn't expecting it this year anyways. And while there's no such thing as having too many good games, 2015 is going to push that theory to the limit. Early next year sounds fine to me.

If this is true, the 2015 lineup is completely garbage so far. Crackdown will probably be released in 2016 as well. They really need to win E3 this year, but I bet they won`t.

I mean weren't they always basically glorified FMV cutscenes? That's what I understood.

While the (potential) delay is disappointing, I'd rather they took their time and released a complete, proper experience.

Why is the exclusivity of the game being brought up?

Anyway, it wouldn't surprise me. Halo 5, Forza 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Fable Legends are all currently releasing later this year for XBO. Take into account the competition (Uncharted 4, Zelda U [Wii U tiny base blah blah]) and non-exclusive third party options (Battlefront, usual annual faire, The Division), and it's a bit crowded for a new IP where its predecessor to the Xbox platform wasn't a particularly hot seller.

Nothing to really worry about IMO.

Tomb Raider, Halo 5, Forza 6 - garbage.

The only out of those three with guaranteed quality is Forza. Neither TR nor Halo have had the best track record lately.

Not sure how a year in which the system will have sequels or entries to most of its biggest exclusives is "completely garbage".

I mean, if NONE of those games appeal to you then that's fine -- but at the same time, I would wonder why you would even get/have an Xbox One in that case.

Someone should just post this anytime an anticipated game is delayed.

For the sake of videogaming, i just hope they don't cut almost every nice feature the game has, like they did with their previous game

The holiday hoarding of games is my only complaint from MS, at least give something to hold us over.

Indies don't count.

So for me, my interest in MS this year comes down to... Halo 5?

Yikes. That's rough. I'm not even sure how interested in Halo I am anymore. That being said, I look forward to playing Quantum Break someday, but I'm unsurprised at any delay.

Well, Gears and Crackdown are coming presumably next year. I would guess another Forza Horizon game and then hopefully a new IP.
