People can be excited about literally anything as long as it's on switch, I don't understand it either.I have a hard time believing that people are being honestly excited about playing a downgraded port of a soon to be 4 yr old game.
I just paid more for The Banner Saga on Switch when I could have got it for less than half the cost on the Steam sale because I feel a tactics-style game is more suited to a portable play style going by my past experiences with this genre and that is the way I want to play it. I don't want to be stuck in front of a computer playing battle after battle.People can be excited about literally anything as long as it's on switch, I don't understand it either.
People say this for all kinds of games though, when it's a rpg it's because people don't want to sit in front of a game for hours and prefer portability, when it's a short arcade game it's because people don't want to sit in front of a game just for short sessions and prefer portability, etc etc...I just paid more for The Banner Saga on Switch when I could have got it for less than half the cost on the Steam sale because I feel a tactics-style game is more suited to a portable play style going by my past experiences with this genre and that is the way I want to play it. That shouldn't be hard to understand. If it is, you are trying too hard.
The crazy thing is, you see, it does both. Crazy, I know. Not sure why anyone would want that. Must be fanboys.People say this for all kinds of games though, when it's a rpg it's because people don't want to sit in front of a game for hours and prefer portability, when it's a short arcade game it's because people don't want to sit in front of a game just for short sessions and prefer portability, etc etc...
So what, people only want handheld gaming from now on then?

That seems like a stretch? Unless heavy downgrades?

Basically just falls down to personal preference. The crazy thing is, you see, it does both. Crazy, I know. Not sure why anyone would want that. Must be fanboys.
If you're able, do give it a go no matter the system. People keep gushing about W3 how you decisions matter, but in my opinion, in the grand scheme of things, they really don't that much. Unless you count who Geralt ends up banging or not (and some epilogue stuff). In W2, the whole second act can be very different depending on what you do. The third act remains pretty much the same though, granted. They can atleast port The Witcher 2. It did make its way to the 360 so the Switch shouldn´t have any issues running that. Besides I haven´t played 2 yet, I popped my Witcher-cherry with Wild Hunt.
I mean, yeah. The Witcher 2 also had a port and in some ways even improved upon the PC build. It's possible. It's also possible that it could run and look decent enough. Just change your mindset a bit. It obviously would never reach Xbox one X visuals, but even the X has a lot of issues still (Sky is messed up in HDR STILL? How!?)
It wasn't long ago, we were all totally ok with DS ports of games. Games that had barely anything to do with the main console versions. We were fine then. And honestly, the chance to flop out my switch on a long flight and play Witcher is one of the coolest ideas I can think of.
Let's just see. It likely won't happen, and is a pipe dream... but stranger things have happened.

There's footage of it already:
Nah but seriously, can't see that happening, not do be a downer but, this doesn't seem possible at all without the game being completely different.

Have I got a game for you.I have a hard time believing that people are being honestly excited about playing a downgraded port of a soon to be 4 yr old game.
Just change your mindset a bit.
Todd Howard, you're not fooling anyone anymore.Have I got a game for you.
Wrong. You didn't change your mindset hard enough. That's not how software engineering works. You are dealing with concrete technological limitations, you can't suddenly magically make Crysis run in 3D on an NES just by "changing your mindset".
Drat! Time to scram. This alt has been found out.Todd Howard, you're not fooling anyone anymore.

... what?Where is that picture of Witcher 3 running on a DS? After that everything is possible.

oh my god I thought you literally meant some homebrew demake or something
