-=-=->S P O I L E R S<-=-=- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Spoiler Thread

That final form doesn't appear to be too menacing but the stuff before looks pretty good.

Also, hoping that marrying Zelda is true and not just a rumor. <3
Yeah the crazy ass Calamity boss fight is more unique and stylish. Who wants to fight a wild hog with Christmas lights all over it? Ganon looked cooler when he was a Popeye pig with human muscles. Would have suited the art style rather than the out of place realisic model that plagues so many bro dude games these days.

I don't mind fighting a wild hog or even how it looks too much but it should be a hell of a lot more challenging. Nintendo should have made it a hardcore fight.

I'm with you on this. Really thought we would have seen the return of blue, piggy Ganon for the final, final boss fight. Like you mentioned, the art style for this game could have made him look stellar. We've had great versions of Ganondorf (OoT, WW, TP), but the blue Ganon from Zelda 1 and ALtP hasn't really been explored in a long time. At least with him having some intelligence. Maybe it's time for Nintendo to give Ganon/Ganondorf, as a whole, a break. Obviously he didn't really feature in SS, but Demise is supposed to be the beginnings of his hatred.

It just seems like a missed opportunity, with all the nods to the original Zelda. The first stages of Ganon look like great fights, though.

You can buy male Gerudo armour in the Gerudo city that gives you heat resistance.

If it's the crossdress armor i got that then ?
I got that i am not sure if that's enough to get me through the whole Goron Area tho i think it's purely for the desert.

It's not the crossdress armour, you need the crossdress armour to get into the city to get the male armour though.

One thing I have noticed regarding the combat system is that 1 defense = one less quarter heart damage taken, to a minimum of taking 1 quarter heart of damage. So getting an additional 4 armor is equivalent to a full heart container. Because of this additive effect, the more armor you have the better additional armor is. Unless there's damage types that bypass armor, I suspect stacking armor as much as possible will be much more effective than hearts container.

Edit: Just found this in a secret cave, I feel like I'm playing Morrowind again with all the cool unique hand-placed secret loot

The Master Sword Shoots Sword Beams if you throw it because of course it does.

They've really come up with elegant solutions for throwing weapons - it's an easy way to discard an item while getting an attack bonus, implement boomerangs, and implement sword beams. Perfect.

From what I've seen the overworld it self seems to change as you progress through the game, I really wonder what the end game will feel/look like.

Best way to get rupees is to sell monster parts imo. Also you don't really have to memorize recipes, just read the description on the ingredients and the resulting cooked item will be greater than sum of every ingredients in it.

where did you find that?

Kaam Ya'tak Shrine (Trial of Power). It's near the Central Tower, where a lot of gamers got rekt by the guardian when they were playing with a Nintendo rep outside of the Great Plateau. It's also a LONG ass shrine compared to the others. It took almost 30 minutes to complete, there are many puzzles inside using all your Sheikah Slate powers.

After that, I went south to some kind of Colliseum... And there was a demon (called Lynel) inside. It wasn't even considered as a boss and I got killed over ten times and when I beat it, I almost ate everything I had + destroyed my 50 DPS sword in the process lol. No chest, but I could take its weapons (shield 30, bow 10x3 (it shots 3 arrows side by side) and a sword 24 (which is extremely fast with High Durability)). Big Dark Souls vibe here. The Lynel was fast so it was difficult to attack, unless you perfect dodged + flurry attack. Also when it falls to mid-HP, it had a new attack pattern.

Don't underestimate def food. Also, the Lynel's AI was quite interesting. It just look at you without moving and as soon as you take your bow, it rapidly spam you with his bow. So you gotta move to him with your shield up, otherwise you'll die because you get hit for 5 HP and get paralyzed (and your weapon/shield fall on the ground), it charge you and does another big hit.

I honestly didn't know Nintendo could be this brutal.

hey guys I don't know where to post this besides here. I am avoiding spoilers from the game ,but I figured you guys would know best.

But is this a spoiler?

I went to engadget.com and saw the main page and had a picture
of link on a crazy neon like horse wtf

how big of a spoiler is that? I have avoided spoilers for a while and it sucks if this is something big. I am king of freaking out. Can someone PM and say "yes, it is big", "no it is not" or "kind of big but not really" lol

Thanks

This is something that often goes unnoticed. Nintendo is very much capable of truly brutalizing its players while being completely fair (notice how ridiculously tight the hitboxes in this game are and how they offer interesting strategies, this is a perfect example of good hitbox design). They simply choose not to most of the time.

I truly wonder how the Hard mode in this game will play out.
Inb4 Lynels on the Great Plateau.

Oh fuck that's a huge spoiler, he's riding a giraffe!

It's just Link on a horse bro relax

I think people are interpreting that line about Ganon giving up on reincarnating wrong.

If you scan Calamity Ganon into your pokedex it says that he's still in the process of trying to reincarnate into a physical form but Link has interrupted him and his form is incomplete.

After you defeat Calamity Ganon, Ganon ceases the reincarnation process and puts all of his energy into killing Link.

They just mean that he stopped trying to reincarnate in this instance and put the energy he was putting into reincarnation towards Link killing.

King Zora in BotW says that if nothing was done the elephant beast would flood the world.

Existence of Twilight Realm isn't timeline dependent. Sages would also be in Downfall, all 3 point work with Downfall.

Oh my god.

It's just speculation but we have an evil looking lab under the castle and supposedly Ganon came from under the castle, and he is a hideous abomination mixed in with that technology. I don't see Ganon as the type to merge with that technology and turning into that abomination, he believes in pure raw power, like his last form in the game.

Even then, I don't think Ganon has the knowledge to understand how to merge with it. Ganon at this point in time is mostly thoughtless, just a manifestation of hate and evil, it is nothing more than a force of nature now. Only an intelligent being with the knowledge of the technology would understand how to merge Ganon with it, and since this is Sheikah technology we're talking about...

Weren't there assassins in the game that wear Sheikah masks? It might be them that actually merge him with the tech. So one of these two is possible. Regardless, it seems Ganon is nothing more than a tool for other to use, just like he was with Yuga.

Oh my god. Fuck, Demise made Ganondorf's life miserable through 3 different timelines.

I have an alternative theory:

-Zelda Sends Link back and stays in the Adult timeline
-Ganondorf Returns as calamity Ganon
-Adult Timeline A: Link Dies in BOTW, causing the Elephant Beast to flood Hyrule and leading into Wind Waker
-Adult Timeline B: Link defeats Calamity Ganon and prevents Hyrule from being flooded

So I made a rough plan of what I want to do when I get the game on Friday.

I like how the music slowly build up.

Does the Amiibo help with getting an unbreakable sword? (Yes, I would buy it then)

I've got a question for people who already have their hands on the game: are there any weapons in the game that have infinite durability?

I'm somewhat interested in BotW, but weapon durability in games is a thing that really gets on my nerves. So I'd like to know how long it takes (if ever) for weapon durability to be out of the picture.

Yeah, the Master Sword. How "early" you obtain it is dependent on what tasks you're willing to accomplish, it needs 13 hearts to get or you can get it with less hearts if you recover more of your memories.

The Master Sword has a cooldown period after a couple of uses but it will never break, nor can you throw it.
