Okay I learned that one, but it's still really annoying to find a good spot and then juggle yourself with cars. However, I found a mission that's much worse!
It's a snatch mission with a bunch of people to save but the deckers notoriety maxes out. Here is how it went:
1) I go to pick people up, but after (if it goes smoothly) just one pickup there are at least 3 cars of deckers and a chopper. I clear the deckers near the people I'm picking up and whistle but because there are still any deckers at all, they are busy freaking out and ducking instead of GETTING IN THE DAMN CAR.
2) I can get out of the car to kill the deckers no problem, but there reaches a point where there will always be deckers, so the people I'm picking up need to stop being chickenshit and get in the car. On one run I actually did manage to get a good pause before more deckers showed up, but despite my whistling, they were ducking NOTHING for like 20-30 seconds and got in just before more deckers arrived.
3) If I am out fighting deckers they won't get in the car, yet if I just try to stay in the car so maybe the guys will get in, SOME decker will manage to carjack me. While they are running up to do that, they don't do animations for being shot, they just plow through.
4) I could do what I normally do when I get a mass of enemies and blow up the cars, but then the guys I'm picking up would get hurt.
5) I try this anyway, and by time they recover there are more deckers and it has all started over again.
6) I try various clever methods and I can get further in the level, but you have to pick so many people that things get bad and specialists show up. So add brutes, shock hammers, and flamethrowers into the mix and it's waaaay worse.
7) If this were it, I may have actually kept at it and seen if I could eventually save enough people, but with the time limit and no ability to call backup homies, I was convinced it is impossible.
So yeah, I used that bonus thing to 100% complete that hood. No regrets since I got 100% on the other hoods without it. I'm glad they included such a thing. Now all that is left is collectables, saintsbook missions, and the rest of the story missions. Aside from these complaints (which are just two missions) I must say the controls on this with the 360 controller are fantastic. The driving is perfect for this kind of game and the 3rd person aiming/movement is some of the best I've ever played.
