Can you still find specific gangs after you completely own their part of Steelport? I need to kill more specialists for the challenges.

yes, they still spawn on the streets in small numbers. You can also just do side missions and kill a bunch to get specialists to show up.

I was initially planning on doing all the challenges and getting all the achievements for this game. Then I saw some of the achievements were for doing every mission and every activity in co-op.

That's not going to happen for me. So now I'm not doing any extra challenges or achievements. This always happens, whenever I like the idea of getting every achievement for a game If ind one or two that I know I'll never do, and then I lose any incentive to get any achievements.

What system? There are no co op achievements on the 360.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Just finished Saints 1 and got the 'true' ending(well the epilogue one that leads into SR2). Speaking of achievements, SR1 has an awful, awful list. Not even one for getting the true ending??

Gonna start up Saints 2 now. So many people seem to think it is a bit superior, so I'll be interested to see how it goes. Certainly I expect a HUGE upgrade from 1(which wasn't awful, but dated). Will be interesting to compare when I get to SR3.

I have an extra code for the Genki Funtime Pack for the playstation 3

First person to PM gets it!

GONE!

Winnar is Starfish_Oxide

Aaaahhhhhh! *Shakes fist*

I bought this game day one but switched to the PS3 because of supposed better performance. Turns out when you do that it nullifies your preorder code.

Found,uh, that Genki guy out in the wild. The cat took a ton of ammo but eventually I was able to smote his ruin upon the sidewalk.

Does he give you anything? Didn't seem like it.

When I killed him, he didn't drop anything for me. Others have said he drops quite a bit of cash but I didn't get that or anything else.

Got my Saints Row shirts from StylinOnline today, they look great and fit well. Thanks to OneLetter for finding that link.

The lack of customization in this game is depressing. Saint's Row 2 had so much more, I don't know why they didn't just take all those assets from there and move them to this game.

No crew cut? No bandolier? Come on now, how the hell can I be expected to make a decent Duke without that stuff.

If only Volition could get John St John to do a protagonist voice role, that would be so fantastic!

If you kill him with melee, sometimes you won't even notice the cash he drops since it'll be added to your bank, and people sometimes miss the fact that they just earned a bit more money.

Base Genki kills will earn you $100,000. If you have the "All Pedestrians drop 2x cash", then you can up to it $200,000, and by combining all the other upgrades, you can get it as high as $300,000 for killing him. During my most recent playthrough, I only saw him once. :(

Also, sometimes he'll spawn with a rocket launcher, which will be dropped if you kill him. This is especially awesome early game if you haven't unlocked it yet.

Can you guys PLEASE bring back the conservative talk-show hosts from Saints Row 1?

Was just about to post this. Having just finished SR1, I was really shocked and surprised that no talk radio was included in SR2! Easily the station I listened to most in SR1 this past week and am surprised there is no equivalent in the sequel.

Does SR3 even have a talk radio show of any kind either?

Really? Is he suppose to be that rare? I saw him 4 times when I was running around. He's annoying when he shown up at wrong time.

I was closing off my playing late last night when the Genki guy showed up. He appeared as a pink thingy out of the corner of my eye. He was runnin' around punching citizens.

Was kinda creepy.

Prof. Genki just showed during a Tank Mayhem I was completing! :D Unfortunately, he was only worth $3150, and didn't drop any cash... but then, the odds were stacked in my favour!

If you're not listening to "Jon" from Delocated 24/7 in this game on the [adult swim] station, you don't deserve to own it.

Not only is Delocated the best show ever, "Jon" is doing some of his funniest work ever in this game, covering all his greatest hits (breeves, the hoagie) and branching off into new areas of greatness (the ticket giveaway).

Easily the best radio host in video game history. No one comes close.

Haven't booted up SR3 yet, just finished SR1 and am starting SR2. Glad to hear SR3 has a hilarious talk station though, SR2 is sorely missing it.

Shit, do I have to beat the Tron activities to get it?
Nah, you'll get it eventually along the main storyline if you choose.

Speaking of the radio I wish I could have it play outside of driving. Maybe some earplugs accessory that allows you to control the radio at all times. That or just put it in the phone.

For some reason this game doesn't seem to play nice on PC when I have another music player running in the background. That and it kindof freaks out when I alt-tab.

Evolved1

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
I am swimming in dread and worry right now dealing with finals... I cannot wait until this shit is over and I get to finish the last 2/3 of this game.

It is awesome. So difficult to put down.

seen him twice now, first time was in the first couple of hours and dropped 100k. second time was around 20 hour mark and he dropped 200k.

Made the game a bit easier having so much money within the first two hours, felt like I cheated :(

Saints Row Blog said:
General

- Fixed a situation where the game can sometimes crash when re-entering the Mixtape Menu after adding ALL songs to Mixtape playlist then backing out of the menu.
- Fixed the player being unable to select the Kobra with the mouse in the “Pistols” selection of their Weapon Cache.
- Fixed a situation where if a player purchases every piece of clothing, the Wardrobe menu may become unresponsive or some clothing items may vanish.
- Fixed an issue where the RC Gun Self-Destruct button can become unresponsive if a user binds the “Grenade Toss” action to the non-default key.
- Fixed a situation where if a player maps a QuickTime Event button to Mouse 4 or Mouse 5, the QTE may not show the correct button.
- Fixed a situation where the “Activate Cheat?” prompt can sometimes fail to warn a user that their auto-save will be disabled when cheats are activated.
- Fixed a freeze where if a player is using a controller, and attempts to get back into the game by pressing the “Start” button while in the control schemes menu.
- Added multiple voice chat optimizations during online and LAN play.
- General sound optimizations.

Eyefinity Specific

- Fixed a situation where if a player is at Saints HQ and zooms in with sniper rifle, graphical corruption can occur when moving the camera.
- Corrected issues related to UI items being cutoff at 3840x1024 resolution.

Co-Op Specific

- Added a correction for the “Partners in Crime” achievement not properly tracking all user progress in co-op.
- Centered the “UP” button during “Tiger Escort”, when a client’s computer is asked to “scratch the tiger”.

I hope the "General sound optimizations" includes reworking the balance. My cinematics are 50 times louder than the ambient world noises. So I either have decent cinematics and an ultra quiet city, or a more alive city with ear shattering cinematics.

Thanks for the reply OneLetter. When I think back to it, when I was fighting Genki, I had 3 homies with me. It is possible that they got the killing blow and maybe that is why he didn't drop the money? I don't need it much anyways as I am the king of SteelPort and raking in the dough through my properties. Was fun to fight him, he certainly took a lot more punishment than I expected. Nothing that a level 50 Boss Saint can't handle though!

Glad they're still working on video issues, but holy shit... if you're game comes emblazoned with AMD!!!11`~ at the start, make sure it actually performs properly.

That was my favorite line when I had to write the patch notes. :D

With regard to talk radio, it's been discussed a lot internally over whether it should officially come back or not. What it really comes down to, and this goes for all music on our radio, is the bang for the buck. Is the cost and time for doing that specifically, or choosing a specific HUGE song, worth the investment?

While I personally thought WMD-Kaboom was fantastic back in SR1, players had to pretty much stop playing the game to listen to the whole skit if you wanted to catch all of it. While that's great for people who are just free-roaming and messing around in the city, a lot of the jokes can easily be missed, and the punchlines can fall flat if caught in the middle of a specific joke or session. Nothing is more horrible than when a joke is spoiled because you switched to that station at the wrong point. Also, hearing the same talk-radio joke twice compared to the same song twice is a MUCH different experience.

Second-play songs are generally accepted, especially if it's an enjoyable song, but the same talk radio skit over and over can be droning. There's also a lot more work cross-discipline that goes into talk radio compared to just a DJ with songs, such as all the additional writing, all the little stingers and extra sound effects (boing!, splort!, etc.), and of course finding the right duo/trio that we can bring in to record.

The audio team (and others at Volition) fully understands that there is a fanbase out there that really enjoys talk radio and tried to incorporate some of that with the Adult Swim station in SR:TT. In the end though, it's always been on the drawing table, for both SR2 and SR:TT, it just didn't make the final cut.

TL;DR - Don't be lazy, it's only a few paragraphs. :)

I'm on PSN store and looking through the saints row 3 avatars (bought SR3 on steam, but I have extra psn money), how do these avatars look? They don't seem to show examples, or is it just two avatars each pack (Gat vs twin, Saints logo vs Professor Genki)?

I have to be honest, I barely remember the talk station from SR1. I don't think I listened to it much. As long as my precious K12 is in the next game I'll be happy.
