Santa Monica Studio: A message from the team regarding spoilers

There's a trend among some idiots recently in saying that people are too sensitive about spoilers. Fuck em. Being spoiled on something is shit.
This doesn't even deserve a discussion. If you like to be spoiled, there's places for that. You can still find out everything about the game without randomly posting those spoilers everywhere. Actively spreading them for no reason but to annoy people is just stupid.

Did you not watch any trailers for the game?
A few of the early ones. But their titles didn't give much away in terms of story or gameplay sequences, if they had I'd avoid.

Guess if I was much younger with nothing more to offer other than cum soaked socks under the bed I might not be too bothered.

It's usually people who don't care about what is being spoiled.

You spoil something they care of and hell on earth would unleash.

I struggle to read anything from SM or ND these days, still like their games but they just come across as self-important as companies.

The state of play trailer literally shows Thor and Kratos tossing Axe to Hammer.
Were you assuming that was a norse high five and not a fight?

people who spoil things for other people probably have listening issues, so I doubt they're going to head the developer's advice.

I guess it feels good to be the studio that has to say something like this because that means their game is on the top of the charts.

Plenty of spoilers in trailers, no doubt, but other than some earlier trailers I have been avoiding them.

But .gif all you like, none of that compares to a thread title spilling major beans that I would need to sift through to find.

If you honestly honestly couldnt deduce Thor and Kratos were going to fight in this game noting that the first game and first trailer heavily heavily imply it and second trailer explicitly spells it out, you might have much bigger problems to worry about than offering up more than cum soaked socks.

And here is where I guess some higher level thought comes in, generally beyond teenagers and their socks.

I don't need to see spoilers for a horror film to know people are going to die. I don't need to watch a trailer for an Attenborough documentary to know what I'm in for. But I still enjoy the nuance of surprise, and while it's obvious for some genres what the general layout of the plot might be, you still can have some sense on suspense not truly knowing what's coming.

I mean assholes will be assholes and will spoil things regardless if SSM does one of these "Hey look at us, we know you know this, but were still gonna be white knights and tell you the obvious"

Nintendo games usually are finished so far in advance that reviewers get review code up to 3 months before launch
I remember I think Digital Foundry talking about some Nintendo title a while ago where they had the game in their office in basically Day 1 condition for months

Yes, but all that time is used to create physical copies, manage inventory, create special editions, allow for proper marketing and events - at least most of the time. Sometimes you get the rare exception like the Advanced Wars remakes that have been completed for over a year, are completely playable, and they just refuse to release the fucking game. For fucks sakes Nintendo, stop with this virtue signaling cancer and just release the fucking game!

How do you all get people to come spoil you? I keep asking the trolls to spoil me and they refuse. It's like when someone wants to be spoiled, they refuse.

I don't really care, mate. Shit like that doesn't bother me.

Making a post about it and making it seems like someone killed a parent or something. It reads like an obituary.

No one is forcing people to go and click on Youtube to watch the videos. They are bringing more attaention to it by making that announcement. Most people who watch the videos of games released before their date don't care about the story.
well others do. respect it

Oh no I've been spoiled while actively looking for news, discussions, youtube videos and reading every reddit posts in the said game/movie subreddit!! Screw people, why they don't think of me!!

Waiting for a game's conclusion for almost half a decade only to be spoiled 10 days before reiease sucks ass. How is that over the top?
It's popular game so shit like this bound to happen, is it suck that people spoiling game for others? Yes but just like you can't stop people from doing crime, you can't stop people do stupid things on internet for sake of clicks, so it up to each person to do what they can from getting spoiled if that means getting off from Twitter and YouTube for weeks until the game comes out.

This is such a crap take, all we saw was him standing outside his house, and Kratos was there to kinda retire. Can you really not come up with any scenario where those two don't fight? And Thor is kinda central to the whole myth and Ragnarök so such a fight would be boring anyway, unless the writers completely shred the myth until it's not interesting anymore. Plus this game is supposedly the ending of this storyline so what are we going to expect for Odin? Frigg? Vale? Freya? Tyr? Heimdall? World serpent? Fenrir?
Easiest thought is saying Kratos will fight them all, including Loki, but I honestly expect more from the writers than a grade school story.

I think spoilers in thread titles should be banned. Thanks to the fuckwitt who posted a thread about a certain battle - hope you go home to your wife/girlfriend and smell your best friends cologne on your pillow.
I'm all for not spoiling stuff but come the fuck on...it was the end of GOW 2018 and it was literalul teased in the trailers for Ragnarok, clearly SSM deemed it not spoilery If they showed it multiple times in trailers.
