In Saul's own words, "the tracks range from politics to relationships and the politics of relationships." Co-produced by Williams and Mickey P(Beck, Dust Brothers, AIR), the album features Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against The Machine), Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Ikey Owens (The Mars Volta) and Mia Doi Todd. "What I ended up with was something that captured the authoritative cool of hip-hop, the playful angst of rock and roll, the raw emotional torment of emo (and, my favorite, 'screamo'), and the fuck offness of punk."
saul williams. poet, prophet, and now, finally, self established and widely encouraged mc. not an album for music's sake, but more for message sake. his scathing take on society and humanity and our so-called 'accomplishments' is a hell of a wake up call to a civilization that has lied dormant and blissfully ignorant of the consequences of itz actions.
I don't think since rage against the machine's self titled debut back in '92 has an artist touched so many w/ a genuine heartfelt message/call to nonviolent arms, and it only figures that zack de la rocha makes an appearance on the record.
this is poetic punk hop...as raw and real as it gets. you can't afford NOT to listen to this one.
