Stargate SG1, Atlantis, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

Atlantis was great though. Great wrap up to the season 1 clifhanger, even if the ending was slightly rush (well, I thought it was anyways)

Back when it had humor but could be serious too, they had a goal of getting technology, whereas now they just seem pretty much invincible. They have no compelling enemies now. And my favorite character in the show is no longer on it. But 9 years, it was a good run.
Phoenix said:Put more ads in Stargate SG-1 which is now the dumping ground for all the old Farscape personalities.
Phoenix said:What the hell is with the new gay ass intro to Battlestar? Its like its been Berman & Braga-ized.

Doublesith said:First season UK and US intros were the same, only the theme was different. The new US intro is now using the UK theme, they just cut out the part with the drumbeats and quick cuts of the episode you were about to watch.
BuckRobotron said:BSG was as good as expected, which means excellent.
Atlantis turned out better than expected, new ship/Hermes, X-files guy (Pileggi) being introduced, some action, the Ford evolution, etc. Meaty episode.
Stargate felt somewhat underwhelming as an intro episode, but I have no doubt the new Browder and Bridges characters will get to strut their stuff as the season gets going. Writers did well by differentiiating Cameron as very eager to join SG-1 and try to get the team as he knew it back again...that contrasts nicely with Shepard in Atlantis who had to be dragged into participation.

I'd like to wait if its not long, and I kind of enjoy watching them weekly (tivo is kinda like bittorrent + RSS in that way) - but BSG sounds like it might need downloading. Whats the torrent quality like?
Are the stargates tied together in some way? i.e is it relevant to watch them both roughly in sync?
Archaix said:The stargate shows don't seem to be matched up. The Atlantis premiere took place directly after the first season's finale, while there was a time gap between SG1 season 8 and 9. So either last year's Atlantis finale was a few months beyond last year's SG1 finale, or the premiere of SG1 is a few months ahead of the Atlantis one.
Fairly irrelevant "spoiler" for the first episode of both shows.
In the first episode of SG1, Jackson is mentioned as being scheduled to board the Dedalus to go to Atlantis. If the ship is going to stay in Atlantis permanently, then it means that SG1 is a few days behind Atlantis and they'll likely be more or less in sync. If it keeps making trips between Earth and Atlantis, then we can't really know when they are relative to eachother.
DopeyFish said:they needed the zpm to make the trip that short.
the zpm is now powering atlantis shields
Archaix said:I thought the ZPM wasn't in use, that it was just being transported by the dedalus.
I don't remember that being brought up in the middle of season 8 when they started talking about the Daedalus.Silent Death said:No the ZPM powered the warp engines. Without the ZPM the ship is not capable of intergalactic travel, the same way they can't gate back to Earth without a ZPM.
