I didn't know they made drives that large either... So if you have three of them in your pc, that's 1.2 terrabytes?

Having a HDD that big is fucking silly.

Why? I have a 160 gb drive dedicated to mass storage and I routinely have to clean it. I don't install anything on the drive, it's just for storage.

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated

So you're posting in this thread...why? I think you'd be surprised how quickly even 400GB can be filled depending on what you're doing. Video capturing/encoding, DVD ripping, etc all eat through HD space mighty fast. I have a 160GB drive I'm constantly having to clean up, so I may consider this little upgrade...

Seagates are EXCELLENT now days for reliability. Can take more heat than other drives, and come with 5 year factory warranties.

I used to think that until I bought a 250GB alongside my 120GB and quickly found myself filling them relatively quickly. But then I tend to actually back up CDs and DVDs in uncompressed formats since I routinely lose a handful of them. Of course, I'm also not new to massive storage after my seeing my friend's PC which has over 2TB of storage on it. I do like the trend of cheaper massive storage however, as it largely does away with the shuffling act of the '90s I remember having to go through.

My next HDD upgrade will be a 1TB drive. I think there are a few, but they are wierd form factors. And with bandwidth increasing, storage space has to keep increasing. A 1TB Raptor or whatever other 10K rpms SATA drive is on the market at that time. PEACE.

I have a 400gb hd, though not on purpose.

I got a dell with a 160gb hd back in september, and my hard drives KEEP BREAKING. I've been through 4 since then, all failing by the same error message. Well, the latest one they sent me, i think they goofed, cuz it's 400gb, instead of 160.

Oh well, I'm not complaining. Is incredibly inept and awful as their service has been(beyond just the hard drives failing. I mean in actually working with the people), I feel I deserve it.

Nice price for a great drive. I've got 500gbs right now and i honestly think i'll fill it up by feb at the earliest. So maybe i'll look into buying one of these drives. Though maybe my gf could is more than me. Oh well i'll get this after i get a DVD-RW drive.
