Crazy ending...
tie game!

It's was 3-0 going into halftimeHow is it game of the year if it ended in tie?
That was some soccer level shit. And by soccer level shit, I mean boring.
How does this affect the rankings of each team involved in league standings now? Do neither move up/down in rankings with the other teams?

This game highlights just how important kickers are and makes the Buccaneers decision to select Roberto Aguayo with a 2nd round pick look even more genius.
Game might as well as never happened.

I thought he was struggling though.
I don't follow NFL that much but why can't they just break the tie?
I thought whoever scores first whether it's fg or td wins.
This is the worst NFL season.

This is exactly what I thought. From what I read, I think the NFL had been that way but in a recent season there was a rule change that OT just one more quarter.

The OT rules changed a bit a few years ago. It used to be sudden death, first score wins period.
They changed it to allow the other team to get a possession if the team that wins the OT coin toss only manages a FG. If the game is still tied after *that* possession, it becomes sudden death.
The first two drives in OT resulted in FGs, bringing the score to 6-6, and no one scored again.
I only watched parts of it, but I'm glad I tuned in for the shit in OT.
The league got sad when Brett Favre's Vikings were beaten in overtime of the NFC championship game because of the sudden death rule. So now they've made it that if the first team with the ball only scores a Field Goal, then the they have to kickoff and the other team gets the ball and has a chance to tie with a field Goal of their own or win with a Touchdown. If its the former, than its proper sudden death, next score wins. Neither team scored after their initial field goals, so they tie.I don't follow NFL that much but why can't they just break the tie?

I would have rather watched most of the ten MLS games to this honestly. How is it game of the year if it ended in tie?

LMAO
what is funny is that people are going to say "omfg terrible! this is why viewership is down!"
no. what you have is the nfl/fantasy football has set an expectation of higher scores. high scorin'! that's what people want. the NFL grew their market by roping in a bunch of people who are just casual fans, want to see some TD's, drink some beer, and so on. the hardcore NFL fan very likely enjoyed this throw back game. i thought it was entertaining and the good defense was ACTUALLY good defense, not completely inept offenses that couldn't get out of their own way. yes, both offenses missed some opportunities but it was the defenses that deserve the praise.
the missed fg's at the end though...
