"It wasn't great, and Maeby knew it. The studio at which she finagled a job had hoped to avoid controversy by artlessly explaining that the two leads weren't biological cousins."

Then when GM and Maeby are kissing and GOB walks in, the narrator explains they may not be biological cousins. :lol

I've already rewatched this episode 4 times tonight. :lol

Plus:

"Great news, dad wasn't crushed to death!" :lol
and about the protest signs: "Well, only mine and the one that says 'This is a tricky grey area'" :lol

Great way to end a season. One hell of an episode so much going on in 1/2 hour it is amazing they could pull it off. I still have a good feeling the show will be back next year. Fox is still short on shows considering how few sitcoms they have and all most all the new ones tanked big time.

If it's cancelled, I guess I missed the boat on the show altogether... but I'll probably be picking up the DVDs. Only seen a few episodes before tonight, and I thought it was hilarious.

I am a little sad about franklin. I never would of thought in my life time a pupet with ether on its lips would be some of the funnest shit ever. ME and the family almost pissed ourselves when George Sr. was KOed by franklin.

If they want to make some extra money they need to sell that damn franklin CD on thier web page damn it. I would pay 20 bucks to here a completed version of that CD.

It wasn't such a great finale to me. Did Kitty look attractive this ep to anyone else? I really hope there'll be another season, it'd be a same for such a great series to get cut short barely two seasons in.

Ya I thought kitty was acutally hot also. She did not have the goofy eyes for a change is what i noticed was different.

:lol @ I got childrens all over town and Pop Secret

But I got confused at the end. Who was it that showed up when the brothers were fighting? Was it Oscar or George Sr? Are both in custody now?

george sr. showed up when they were fighting. to turn himself in. presumably he already had oscar stuffed in the bathroom stall. he then went in, made the switch, and joined the blue man group and screwed tobias out of a job.... best show ever. I can't believe they keep making George Sr. as good as they do. Tambor deserved every ounce of that emmy.

frankling was great. "The healing" album Franklin Comes Alive (I got kids all over town), and then getting bleached and having a british accent.

Seriously, I can't think of a single weak link on that show.. not one weak link.

Wow, great episode. So many moments...

"I got children all over town."
Pop Secret
"Dad will be crushed."
GM and Maeby
Buster's hook & Oscar
Charlie Brown music
Michael and GOB w/ the Michael Bolton music

I think it was George Sr., but when he went into the courthouse bathroom, he snuck out the window leaving Oscar in the stall for the authorities to find.

And :lol @ the last cop with the nightstick.

Michael: "Tell him I've got a nice hard cot for him here"
Lucille: "I can't believe you'd do that to your own brother!
Michael: "...I said COT."
:lol

Yes.

God damn, that was incredible. One of the top five best episodes for me, easily.

Franklin telling Job he ruined the act in a British accent was the best thing I've ever seen.

"Arrested Development returns this summer"

Reruns? Or Season Three?!?!

"the film is 71 minutes. you have to figure out a way to cut some of this and make it watchable."

"come on george michael.. it's only 63 minutes."

"the best 51 minutes you'll see for this kind of money."

:lol :lol

IIRC, very rarely does a cancelled show get reruns. I am guessing new episodes... unless it is an attempt by fox to get more viewers in on it to save it..

but again, rarely does a cancelled show get reruns.. so I am taking this as a sign that we will at least get some new episodes of AD.

I love how everything George Sr said in the episode was a lie to screw Oscar and make himself look good to the family. That whole deal just worked out hilariously.

I also love how kitty has whored her way around 3 Bluth family members (though only two are blood relatives). too bad for her tobias is gay :lol

"I guess it makes sense for her to be attracted to a man that's my type. It really is surprising how the human desire can out oneself."
"Like you just did?"
"No I didn't."

Phew. That's some rough paraphrasing.

Now I want to find a ringtone for my cell phone that plays "The Final Countdown", like Gob/Tobias's did.

If you have Cingular wireless... Yahoo! Ringtones has the best polyphonic version of The Final Countdown I've found.

It is really easy if your phone can play mp3s. I have both the full song and the the selected portion that GOB always dances to on my phone. I think there are free programs out there that will convert those clips into a format compatible with your phone as well.

There's something about George Michaels character that I find so damn funny it's amazing. For me, one of the funniest little moments of the episode is when GM says he made a sign that reads “This is a tricky gray area” for the protest. :lol If I ever protest anything I'm making that sign.

Lindsay: Tobias, I actually fought for you.

Tobias: I can’t believe it. (Laughs.) I’m going to Vegas with Kitty.

:lol

Great episode. If this was the final episode, the show went out on a bang. They should be proud of themselves.

Wasn't paced very well. They were trying to fit the would be episodes 19-22 into episode 18 and while being funny and a great end, I saw potential for all those jokes and such to be 4 great episodes.

G.O.B.: And guess what else? Dad kissed me.

Michael: How? He looked pretty unconscious in that picture.

G.O.B.: I didn’t say he was totally into it.

Not that there's any reason to expect a turnaround for the finale, but ratings are still pretty weak:

FOX was third with "The Simpsons" (5.0/9) and the season finale of "Arrested Development" (3.6/6)

I guess it's gonna about a month until we learn whether or not the show is dead? On one hand, the show has had much more of a chance than any other good show that Fox axed (2 seasons, Sunday night timeslot) and probably doesn't deserve the further financial risk. On the other hand, it has received more acclaim than any of the other good shows Fox has cancelled (multiple Emmy wins, critics love it).

I loved the part where Oscar grabs the cornballer than Buster's like "It's my father's fault!" and Oscar starts screaming "My fault? I was only trying to help you, you idiot!" then remembers how he's supposed to hint at it, the music plays and he softens up and ges "oh, yeah it's George Sr.'s fault."

I think he also said that they rushed it [the cornballer] to the market. *LOL*

You mean Bryan Adams, unless Adams' song was actually a cover of a Michael Bolton song, which was something I did not know. I can't appreciate the song if that's the case. :p

It was too funny, gotta watch it again...

Like I said in the other thread:

Myself said:
I'm fairly sure the "returns this summer" message is just referring to reruns. The show is being taken off the air right now for Animation Domination. I'm guessing Fox plans to start airing it again later. The fact that they already have plans for that is promising, though.

Can someone explain the Pop Secret to me? I mean, I get that's how Buster figured out Oscar was his dad etc etc but I don't understand why Oscar would say "I wanted so share my pop secret with you." Is Pop Secret a brand of popcorn in America or something? (Not in the US in case you hadn't guessed :)

Anyway, good ep, not the best this season but some pretty funny moments. Was it just me or did it sound like the intro ("Now, the story of....") had been re-recorded?

I hope it returns for a third season even though I'm largely disappointed with Season 2. Season 1 was so funny and I think there were too many episodes that were more concerned with in-jokes that teh funny. I'll watch it again though and maybe I'll realise the error of my ways :)

yes, pop secret is one of the two largest brands of microwave popcorn in america (the other being orville redenbacher).

I was watching the episode Switch Hitter today, and I realized that they foreshadowed the house sinking.

Stan Sitwell: Okay, let me tell you what I’m offering. You got a wonderful piece of property here that’s going nowhere. So, what I propose is a co-venture with your Sudden Valley Development. The first thing you might want to change, though, is the name. You know, Sudden Valley conjures up the image of a sinkhole, no?
