Would play on PS4. I'm one of the weirdos who backed Shenmue III without playing the first two games.
You and me bro.

He does not specifically mention plans to re-release Shenmue 1/2 (¿?)
Here's the full article: Sega was an innovator, the Dreamcast was offering online gaming as early as 1998. But perhaps back then we were pushing boundaries a little too soon.
High five, bro! And I backed Shenmue 3 for $60, no less!
Maybe the author removed that line afterwards? Maybe that bit of information wasn't meant to be out in the pubic? Maybe he got a call from Sega of Europe to remove it, right? Right!?
It was a failed experiment. They wanted to see if that platform was viable for future releases. It didn't even sell 2000 copies on release week.

It's only logical to push boundaries with a team like this. So much talent at one place...And so much managerial mistakes over the years.

I think you're discounting how many of us fans love BOTH.
Yakuza and Shenmue are both amazing series and neither should be ignored for the other.
Great picture.Except that part of the pic where Peter Moore stands...
Most of those legendsare not in SEGA anymore. Wonder why they don't have balance now then...(and I don't mean Peter Moore!)
What kinds of ways do they need to explore?

I'm aware that it was a flop, but the idea is still the same: give people that might not have played the games a chance to do so. Shenmue on a handheld would certainly help resurrect the franchise's profile in Japan.
The entire lines don't match up, so it must be updated - including the remasters bit.
I can picture someone now, frantically searching through an old basement in Shinbashi for the "Shenmue Source Code - DO NOT OVERWRITE" floppy disk.
We'll see.

I know shenmue fans wont like this but this is a terrible move for the shenmue franchise going forward. This will kill the mystique that has developed around these games. This isnt the kind of game that has aged well and I predict new players will wonder wtf this vocal internet community has been on about.
