Fun fact: that petition doesn't explicitly mention Shenmue 1 & 2 HD as one of their requests.

He also said it in response to being asked about Shenmue ports. I doubt that he'd bring it up at all if they weren't looking into porting the games, this just means that they're exploring porting other games as well. And while the PC Ports campaign didn't bring up Shenmue ports, there have also been plenty of fan campaigns for getting Shenmue back as well. No doubt that also includes requesting the original games to be ported.

As for the last thing, they haven't just hinted at that. They confirmed that they're porting more of their past games to PC in the press release about Sonic Lost World coming to PC.

Hopefully it happens. I'll finally play these, been waiting for a long time. Always wanted to play but never did, and I was gonna track down copies before 3 but if I don't have to do that I'd love it.

That's a pretty ridiculous idea. It makes far more sense to release a "remastered version", and even that could be as little as updating it to be more suitable for higher resolutions

I've never played them and would feel better about picking up 3 if I can appreciate the buzz about 1 and 2.

NeoGAF and ShenmueDojo should join forces and start one. There was practically an alliance between the two back when we had the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter thread in support of the game (with many posters here being members over there making it easy to interface between the two). Just thinking if Sega do actually acknowledge petitions then a Shenmue HD petition hitting something like 20K signatures could prompt a response. Hell they responded to the example above when it only hit 1K. Good idea?

Absolutely, I can give my vote and a donation if needs be, if it's arranged. I'm not at Shenmue Dojo, but whatever site you guys will use to make this happen I will lend my support......I'm looking for sailors.. man.

I'd also like to play Shenmue1 without all that pop-up in the warehouse.....driving a forklift is hard enough.....

Surely Shenmue should be at the top of the list already. fans raising 6 million dollars should be evidence enough for them to realize that releasing the first two games is a good idea.

Then again, this is SEGA we're talking about. Logic isn't their strong point.

I'm almost certain they will, following the success of the Shenmue 3 kickstarter. People are losing their shit claiming they either won't do it or haven't made any attempt to or they won't because they haven't done it before. However, I think now they can see a demonstrated sizeable group putting their money where there mouth is has lead them to start on it, if they hadn't started earlier when sorting agreements out with Yu Suzuki / Sony. The reason we haven't seen anything is likely because they are still working on it and not close to releasing them.
