Oh my God I needed this thread, I can't breath I'm laughing so much.

The past few games were fairly good, not sure where this degree of headassery comes from. 2006 maybe? Y'know 17 years ago?
On-topic, it's most likely the Jet Set Radio game that was leaked a while back.
No they were actually good. And I've played plenty of platformers (just beat Pac-Man World Re-Pac as a matter of fact, it was pretty good!). The only people coping are the people acting like Sonic isn't in probably the best phase he's been in since the 90s. Successful movies, very strong sales for their 3D pillar title (Frontiers), and just a renewed interest in general. Sonic is in much better shape now than he was from 2001-2013 for sure. When fans of the series need to say "the past few games were fairly good", they have reached a new level of cope. While it would be nice for the series to return to its glory, the rest of us live in the real world. Mascot platformers are done for, especially 3rd party ones. So even if there was a new awesome Sonic game, it's unlikely to make waves. Sega would be better off capitalizing on their actual critically acclaimed franchises and throw Sonic fans a bone here and there to show they still care.

Not sure who said its supposed to be its "Odyssey moment"...That's not saying much considering Frontiers was supposed to be its Odyssey moment.
I like how the hat has matching moles.Dear Sega,
Stop trying to make Sonic happen.

"Odyssey moment" doesn't even mean anything considering its one of the weaker 3D Mario games (although still pretty good) lol. Galaxy 1 and 2 were both infinitely better. That's not saying much considering Frontiers was supposed to be its Odyssey moment.
VF3 is coming back to arcades via All.net. I don't know if its related to this.
Couldn't be. A Japan exclusive arcade release of an old game wouldn't get shown at the game awards. That'd be something for the AOU show if those are still going.VF3 is coming back to arcades via All.net. I don't know if its related to this.
Yes.That reminds me, isn't the latest iteration of VF5 still stuck on PS4?
Even worse than that the best version of VF5 is actually VF5R and that was exclusive to Japanese arcades and now probably isn't even available there.Yes.
But the worst version, Final Showdown, is on everything (excluding Switch) via Yakuza 6, Judgmnent, and Like a Dragon arcades...
Even worse, the best version of VF5 is stuck on the PS3/X360.At least it is fully emulated with Xenia.
I would really love it if they could give me a Virtua Fighter 6 or a content rich port of Virtua Fighter 4: Final Tuned.
Having never played it makes it hard to be a judge. I do not even know of any way to emulate it or any attempts to. I wonder whether corpse kicking is removed, downed attacks have a shorter window, simplified throw system is implemented, movement is counterhit, and juggles are extra floaty in this version?Even worse than that the best version of VF5 is actually VF5R and that was exclusive to Japanese arcades and now probably isn't even available there.
Yes they are great games. Sonic Mania, Frontiers and Superstars all have great feedbacks from players (between 8 and 8.5/10 on average). No they were actually good. I wonder if this is that announcement. There's at least a couple projects on the way that fans of old Sega are going to be happy about.
I backed that game on Kickstarter for a physical copy. It still remains unopened on the shelf.Shenmue. It's never happening. Shenmue 3 sucked by the way.
Most of your post is pretty much the 4chan rumor from a year+ ago(it's missing the Jet Set Radio title).Crazy Taxi Remake for modern times (Uber Taxi) where you fight off drunk people and robbers and shit
Sonic Mania 2
Sonic Mania Adventures (like the 3D ones, but Mania...ahh ya'll know what the fuck I mean)
Yakuza -0 aka Negative Zero, Kiryu as a kid beating the shit out of them other Yakuza kidz, make it chibi
Yakuza Kenzen remake (Cause we was asking for a remaster last gen bitch, its remake time lol)
Persona 1 and 2 remake and double down on dat school shit @Danjin44 hate lol
Shenmue 3 (cause they never made a 3rd one....)
Shenmue 0, Ryo meets Kiryu and they in middle school and this is a cross over where he kick this bitch ass
Everything indicates that it is VF6 and I am delighted that it was so...
The letter with the message is apparently reaching people dedicated to creating content about fighting games.
...you asking for a lot here sir lolCan we get a single player turn based Phantasy Star RPG.

Idk about game of the year, but I agree that Sega and Atlus does great with turn based games.I'm tired of them pretending like we don't want turn based games. Their subsidiary Atlus brings in millions from turn based games. A turn based game is the clear game of the year for 2023.

Old school Phantasy Star is stuck in the same purgatory where Shining Force resides.
