I wanted a last Space Channel 5, but I guess I have to let it go now.
If Valkyria Chronicles sold well it's actually something that wouldn't surprise me...Yakuza PC ports, it's time.
Back in 2001 it hurt a lot more. I was genuinely very sadIt's a sad day for a SEGA fanboy like me to see SEGA leave the console business.
This looks more like SEGA rebalancing their business structure towards higher margin digital/mobile offerings (article highlights job losses relating to 'packaged' game software). With the success that EA is having with that style of operation, I bet many publishers are looking more towards that model.Cause the console industry is falling...?
"as well as its Sonic and merchandising businesses."
The day we stop getting shitty console Sonic games is the day Sega goes out of business.
(I don't know whether Sonic fans consider that a good or a bad thing...)

Unleashed was them experimenting and failing hard dude. It had some good things going for it but it was buried under a mountain of shit. Mentioning it in the same breath as Colours or Generations feels insulting. As a Sonic fan, I'm fine with them experiementing and failing (slightly in Heroes and Lost World, enormously in Sonic 2006, Black Knight and Boom) as long as they have great games in between. In particular, 2008-2011, where they had Unleashed, Colours and Generations (each quite different from the predecessor) proved that they can come up with fantastic games. They could go a safer route and just release a level pack for Sonic Generations every year, and while I'd certainly buy it every year, they'd probably run the franchise into the ground this way. So living with some bad games in between the gems is fine by me. Otherwise I'd not be a fan of Sonic, because experiments gone wrong have been part of the franchise from the beginning (Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D Blast were on Mega Drive...).

Yeah Sonic, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia. Whatever they can grabNintendo should buy the rights to console Sonic games.
Yakuza PC ports, it's time.
Even in Japan?...
I don't see Sega quitting the Yakuzas on PS3/4 and the Hatsune Mikus...
These news are odd...
What an evil edit. You're evil..
rip sega
Sega intends to alter operations to focus on mobile and online PC games, which it deems to be its growth areas, as well as its Sonic and merchandising businesses.
The decision comes despite the success of Alien: Isolation which admittedly was somewhat offset by the catastrophic failure of both Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Shattered Crystal.
lol I love ryo as a personification of sega

Sony is absolutely not in the right shape to buy a 2000+ employees corporation.Sony should buy yakuza and atlus with the ps4 moneyZ
Sega logic ?
Sony is absolutely not in the right shape to buy a 2000+ employees corporation.
What was the budget of freaking Sonic Boom that it would offset Alien Isolation?
I'm more suprised that they still hold on so firm on Sonic, despite lacking quality and success.

So an outsourced job and Creative Assembly.
It makes you wonder why they even bothered with buying Relic... CoH2 seems to be a dead property.
