So this pretty much bound to be not nearly as evil as the House bill, thereby making it totally unpalatable for them once again, correct?
All depends if HFC are legit all in on being super villains.

They're designing it to get through with a 51-vote threshold.
They're not taking the L, they're building something that will clear both chambers, now that the House is done with their fantasy version. That should scare the hell out of everyone, not cause a celebration of L's.

The important thing is that the House only got their bill passed through blitzkrieg. With the CBO report coming next week, and the deadline for budget reconciliation fast approaching, and more reflecting on the actual impacts of the hill in the press, it's not clear whether the AHCA has a chance of becoming actual law.So this pretty much bound to be not nearly as evil as the House bill, thereby making it totally unpalatable for them once again, correct?
What are the chances of this new... senate bill being an actual improvement on top of ACA and not just a more palatable Trumpcare? Because I don't like the sound of it so far.
No, the bill would have to go through the house. Same as the existing one if there were any changes.

Not a chance. ACA has serious flaws but it at least helps some people. Anything the GOP passes won't do anything to help at all. What are the chances of this new... senate bill being an actual improvement on top of ACA and not just a more palatable Trumpcare? Are we just hoping for indefinite gridlock at this point as the notion gets passed back and forth?
What? No they don't. The HFC held this bill hostage until they made it as shitty as possible. It was the moderate R's that rolled overI'm with you. The good news is the HFC has threatened to pull their support if the Senate makes any changes
but they always roll over
It's not that complicated on the surface. Anything that is to become law must be approved by both chambers.
So if the Senate just makes a new bill, it then goes to the House. If approved, it'll go to the presidents desk to become law.
This isn't over. Senate will look to try to pass a bill with simple majority. The House then will actually have the ability to actually make something law.
Accurate to a faultRepublicans in the House: "Look, we passed a bill! Your turn Senate!"
Republicans in the Senate: "Nah, we'll make our own."
*Some time later*

When have they ever rolled over?
They only voted for it when they got there demands and made it less moderate and more awful.
They need to rebrand it with a better name.

Yes, it won't go to the President's desk until both the House and Senate pass identical bills.Would they still have to send it back to the house first?
What a gigantic waste of time.
Doesnt work that way. Any bill sent to the president has to have a final version of it approved by the house and the senate. This is actually horrifying and the worst thing that can happen. They are designing an empty shell to not increase the budget and get an easy 51 votes in the Senate. Then they can just reconcile the contents of the final bill to send Trump via a tiny ass committee.

Some say Senate GOP working on their own plan. But more like substitute amendments. House bill will go to floor, am told.
Not exactly. If the Senate and House pass two different versions of the same bill, then they put together a joint committee to put together a compromise bill. They then have both the House and Senate vote on that. The process doesn't end until both chambers of Congress pass the same bill that uses the same wording. So, just to be clear here, the bill the house just passed means nothing now, right?
UPDATE:
Just amending the plan now, it seems.

Let's be sure not to blame anyone who voted for Trump or the Republican goons in Congress.Make sure you thank your local Bernie-or-nothing bro and "third party" supporters for helping put us in this crock of shit

The senate won't approve any bill the freedom caucus likes because it'll kill millions, and the freedom caucus will crush any bill from the senate that doesn't kill millions. Round and round we go.
Of course. But they might not be crafting an entire new bill at all.
If the freedom caucus insists on nuking Medicaid and senators want to keep it, yesSo this pretty much bound to be not nearly as evil as the House bill, thereby making it totally unpalatable for them once again, correct?
