Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 PS5 Pro vs Xbox Series X Graphics Comparison

The amount of bullshit they put on screen in this game makes this comparison really funny: radial blur, chromatic abberation, DOF, motion blur...

See the difference with that:

Agreed. I was excited to replay it once I got the 5090 and maxed everything out and it's still soup.

The only 3 differences i see is

1. Ps5 pro looks abit sharper maybe due to resolution

2. Obviously with pssr as such looks like there's abit more effects on the ps5 pro version

3. I don't know if its me but the beach bit looks like they used a slight different colour tone

I'd be surprised if anyone can see much of a difference, when I played on PC the post processing was so thick you could probably get away with using performance level TSR

I'm just interested in comparisons on Series X between 30 fps and the new 60 fps. Wondering how much of a trade off it is.

sitting 8ft away with my old ass eyes.. yeah i ain't seeing shit, keep at it PS5 Pro keep making me glad i never bothered to buy you

I'm becoming more and more uncaring towards these side-by-side comparisons for console. Unless you pause the video and pixel peep, it's a useless/unimportant time killer. PC versus console comparisons are the only really big ones at this point.

It's been that way for years, no one's playing the games in a 10x zoom environment next to the other hardware.

Like comparing two evenly priced TVs with the same source file next to each other in the shopping centre but once you get them home you cannot remember or see any differences at all.

I honestly can't tell the difference with my 5080 compared to the newest consoles on most modern games just from view distance difference alone.

Issue with comparisons on streaming sites [like YT or any other] is that videos likely gone through several encoding passes making them look so much worse than what you would normally see on your screen. They're not representative of real time image.

Websites like this are way better for this purpose [have to use chrome and fullscreen]: https://imgsli.com/NDA2MTA4

The game is so heavy on the post process, it's gonna be difficult to notice much in terms of differences from a normal viewing angle.

Yeah, I never understood why people were talking about how it's the best looking game they've ever played when it's nearly impossible to see anything clearly when they are shoving post processing effects down your throat.

What's wrong with post processing effects? That's how they achieve a nearly perfect real life film look. It's on purpose.

Zero tangible difference. You can get the full gameplay experience of this by watching a youtube walk-through (3x mode recommended).

4. 30fps on XSX vs 60fps on Pro (I know XSX is getting a update, but this video is comparing the original XSX mode vs quality and performance mode on Pro)

Agreed. Outside of places like GAF and the purple place, the sentiment of purchase regret seems to be common on the rest of the internet.
I'd like to know the rest of internet who talking about what expected exactly from an hardware just 45% more powerful and mostly PSSR based. Because it's not like ps5 pro has been promoted to outclass an nvidia gpu. If you people are ignorant without even know what the hardware is realistically capable of, you should just blame yourself to have bought it blindly. Specs are evidents from years.

You keep saying "You". I don't own a PS5 Pro. I have no desire to buy one, even if it were for some reason 50% off.

I'm simply stating my observation on places outside of GAF and the purple place, the sentiment of regret is scattered everywhere. Take for that what you will, but you don't have to be upset about it.

Good, not to buy one. Still don't get it what's the point to report to have heard sentiment of regret, it's not like what you "heard" is more valid over who said otherwise in the forum or wherever they are. I just pointed out to you who bought the pro blindly expecting miracle is an idiot and should just blame himself because specs are not kept secretly. No upsetting just stating the obvious.

Hellblade 1 shows a pretty big difference in sharpness and clarity with pssr on, but i assume it's due to a higher native resolution being an older game. 2 on the other hand, not so much

Hellblade 2 boasts amazing graphical fidelity, but the image quality is ruined by an extreme lens simulation/blur filter. With such a blurry presentation, the difference in detail between the PS5 Pro and the XSX is negligible. On PC I also saw the same lens blur filter but it was possible to remove it. My screenshots shows lens filter turned off in the ini file (I keept chromatic aberation becasue I liked it). The image without this filter is sharp, so it's possible to appreciate the details, but my screenshots are slightly oversharpened. This is because the in-game sharpening settings were used to offset the blur filter and when you remove the lens filter, the image is oversharpened and requires changing sharpening settings.

4K DLSSQuality (3.7)

It's so much better without the artificial blur. PC is really the best way to play most games.

Lens blur has become the worst thing of gaming currently on consoles. it's awful and you usually can't remove it. For instance it was in Nioh 3 demo (when Nioh 1 & 2 didn't have it). It's also in Elden Ring and there are no ways to remove it.

Mmmm, even with the post processing, HB2 is the best looking game out there, in my eyes, having seen and played it in-person.

Cycu1 is the idiot who uploaded a 480p trailer from Detroit's PSN Store to YouTube, "stretching" it to 1080p, and the Xbox lunatics started spreading the word that it was a downgrade.

This guy should even be banned as a source here.
