According to F4WOnline.com, last night’s WWE Raw storyline featuring Kane being evaluated by HR was actually inspired by real-life events in the company and the Bill DeMott controversy from earlier in the year.

As noted, the woman who played “HR Ashley” was in fact Ashley Osterrieder and she is the actual director of human resources at WWE headquarters.

heh

Max Landis would just rip off an old angle and claim he's doing to be ironic. Then he would bitch out wrestling fans on Twitter.

And if you think the treatment of divas now is bad then oohhhh boy.

Real talk: 8-12 hours of content per week is way too fuckin much time. Austin, Jake, Rock, whomever the fuck you want to think of would suffer from overexposure in the current system.

I can not imagine the HR complaints that office gets

You guys realize 1hr it tv is easier than 3 right? It is also easier to do when you are not writing by the seat of your pants and know where you are going.

NXT is booked well in advance and is 1 hr. Therefore its good.

It's the amount of content needed to be produced, not the writers. Don't be dipshits.

Yep. It's why I miss like 94-95 era. You had 1h Raw, 1h Superstars, and then the stuff on the other shows was rarely pertinent to the storylines, just jobber matches and recaps to sell you a PPV. It was so simple.

It's the amount of content needed to be produced, not the writers. Don't be dipshits.

It's both.

Why would NBC even let Smackdown take a primetime slot on a Thursday next year?

In order to run a 3 hour raw they need a larger roster and they need to space talent out.

Also not having 52 shows a year as well. There is a reason tv season max out at around at 22.

The wire was only 10ish episodes per season. People need a break no one benfits from running all season, it why sports teams have off seasons.

The idea that was has no off season is a badge,of honor is ridiculous. Give talent time to recover and give crerivd time to,find a direction. It why I'm glad Lucha Underground took time off, gives writers a chance to plan things out better

More than 10 people = fans get confused
More than 1 storyline = fans get confused
A women without a bitchy-fierce-kitty attitude = fans get confused

none of this is true, but that's how this company works

if anything it gives the writers a chance to experience culture and what is hot right now.

Last time Vince took a vacation was in the 80s and he thought of wrestlemania.

Seriously, though. Landis writing Raw would undoubtedly be no worse than last night's Raw. It would almost certainly be better.

Would you be more in favor of it if he were kept offscreen?

Sure. I want him locked up, underground.

Then his living conditions will reflect his disgusting-ass physical form.

Maybe not fair comparison.

But we have Football ALL day Sunday, Monday Night, and now even Thursday Night And that doesn't count all the analysis in the middle of the week.

People still tune in droves.

Folks now are well...just not as obsessed with WWE.

you don't have to write storylines for football though

-Cut it by an hour
-Reduce live promo time
-More taped sit-down interviews with Cole (if it has to be Cole)
-Start the show with a match, not a promo
-Wrap up Authority angle
-Get rid of half the Divas so they can focus on one-on-one matches
-GET RID OF JBL ON COMMENTARY
-Big Show as enhancement talent only/not part of any main storyline

You know, that is a good point because football is 80% dudes standing around and concussed ex-players repeating the same talking points for four hours every game. I think people just like loud shit they can watch while they drink, and wrestling went in the soap direction more heavily and got away from the loud shit part.

You can't compare a real sport to pro wrestling on that front.

It's more akin to having 7 hours of Scandal every week and seeing viewership interest slowly drop.

Wwe has no stars on raw outside of cena, imagine if Bryan was there and Dean before they fuck him up by having him lose every feud raw would be so much better.

Sounds like an old episode of Superstars, aside from length.
- 1 hour long.
- Barber shop/funeral parlor/etc was 5-6 minutes total.
- Taped interviews were cut-ins during a guy's matches
- 30-second rundown of what's on the show this week, then right to the ring
- Jack Tunney was *rarely* involved in the stories.
- They had women's one on ones because there were only like three women
- Commentary was Vince/whoever, but they could make it Cole/whoever
- Big Show was still in high school or whatever.

It was the best of times. People can talk all that shit about wrestling trashmen and whatnot, but you never saw Duke Droese eight times on one show trying to play up to Gorilla Monsoon for approval. He just came out, did like four moves, and put a trash can on a dude's head.

that's all fair.

Although Football does have storylines. And Scandal isn't live.

Right. Play to everyone's strengths.

Jake got a live mic because he's JAKE ROBERTS.
