Shadow of Mordor deserves more attention. Come in and be hyped with me.

I'd be way more hyped for this if it didn't have the lotr baggage. I can't help but think the story will go down the shitter near the end to link it to something.

I have 2 wishes for this game, odd's of them happening are probably 50/50 each.

1: Please don't be shit

2: Please don't make me go into Shelobs lair. I could barely handle it in 2003 fuzzy Xbox-O-Vision. I can't handle that place with PS4 visuals.

Heh, I'd be very surprised if the Tower of Cirith Ungol wasn't in there...and you can't really do Mordor without Shelob, right? She was there before the Dark Lord himself.
I hate spiders as well but after reading up on shelob and ungoliant I hope they put the lair of shelob in the game. Thanks for bringing shelob up guys, I had just read some lotr lore for like half n hour. I can't wait for mordor!

Who else do you think we are going to see in the game thats from the lore?
So far we have Galadriel ,Gollum,Saruon,Celebrimbor confirmed to appear in the game. Im sure I saw on one video walkthough they said there are more people in the game who haven't been shown announced yet which. Just to make some more hype for the game i thought we could talk about who we want to see and whos likely to appear !

A list of candidates I think that might have a chance are The Nazgul The Witch King and Khamul (maybe they can expand on the other seven who I dont belive have names), The Mouth of Sauron, Shelob, Shagrat Captain of Cirith Ungol. I could see Elrond appear in a flash back with Celebrimbor and Glaladriel. Maybe Narvi the Drawf in a flashback as well as he and Celebrimbor have a history !

Faramir makes sense, being the captain of the Ithilien rangers that Talion is part of. Maybe one of the Istari, with Gandalf or Saruman being the most recognisable to players.

Faramir wouldn't be born i think. it would make sense to see him though ! i think we could see the blue wizards maybe as it was said they went into the east !

I'm getting this because of Monolith; it looks cool with some cool systems underneath. Couldn't give a shit about the LOTR lore, the actual game looks interesting. The emergent stuff like enemy rivalries, that story stuff looks more fun than whatever plot there is right now.

My only complaint is the UK is not getting this game until the 3rd of October.
It's not launching in Norway until the 3rd either... but like with any other game, I'm buying it on the US PSN for about half the price, then playing it on my Norwegian account.
IIRC we're able to play it when it launches in the US. Worst case, you got the game a whole lot cheaper.

1080p@60fps on the PS4? I'll be surprised if it isn't just a wavering, unlocked framerate, if that's the case.

I was able to play this at PAX and while I do not know the resolution, it was most certainly 60fps with no drops even while surrounded by +10 orcs.

Can someone explain to me what this game entails? I'm interested but all I've seen is all just about the combat. I haven't really seen/heard anything about much else.

My bad, I got the game's timeline wrong... so it's about fifty years before Fellowship of the Ring?

Really? The game is pretty ugly but that's impressive.

the nemesis system seems a bit like a pie-in-the-sky feature a la fable, but I'm willing to give any "open world action rpg" a shot.

I actually think they've more than proven themselves with the Nemesis System. I mean, they've shown HOURS and HOURS of gameplay relating to the system, bringing a small little orc to a full-blown Warchief, setting betrayals in place, duels, gathering info, etc. They've clearly proud of the feature and confident in its inner-workings.

I don't really like the art style. It makes everything look muddy.

When I played it, it did kind of look muddy and grim but i think it's the style they wanted other then that the game was just a blast probably my favorite game i played for a short time at the fan expo

See, that's why I'm so confident in this game. Pretty much every person that plays it loves it.

I'm exactly the same, Messofanego.

The lore and universe are the parts I'm the least interested in. I'm really not much of a fantasy fan in general (Obsidian, Divinity and the Witchers game being the exceptions) but the systems look really fun to play around with and I'm a huge Monolith fan. I hope it's awesome!

I'm really glad this thread reminded me of this game. Just marathoned the LOTR trilogy recently and now I'm excited for this game. I think I'll buy a key off Russian GAF IN THE bst

not sure if screen tearing ign confirmed that there was no tearing when they had hands on demo with the game and the creators and it was because of the capture

3 long weeks before release

Finally my 1st open world action RPG on my ps4

Glad to have risen 3 & xenoblade chronicles in the backlog

What I can't seem to find out though is if you can control an orc yourself, in those duels f.e.

Some of the orc models I've seen are so cool that I want to be able to play as them.

They have been saying they are targeting 1080p60 on the PS4 in a lot of demos they did. (Of which there are many and very long ones.)

The reason why this isn't being ripped apart in every thread is left as an exercise to the reader.

Im sure when they first showed the game they used the xbox one as then somewhere along development they started using the ps4 in all the other videos.

Seriously doubt that. Likely used a PC in the first video. They would want to show it in its best light, so they probably wouldn't have used Xbox One.

Ive been impressed with remote play for diablo 3 and plants vs zompies this week

I feel these will play well too

if only Blizzard made button assignment a little bit more flexible for remote play.
up until you get your 3rd active skill slot (SQUARE button) you're limited to only using your "X" attack - R2 being assigned to the back touchpad is the suckiest "button" to be using some channeling ability like ice-beam
(and yes, that's also the case in elective mode - even then the skill slots are locked to their respective buttons)
i don't get why they didn't choose to use the touchscreen corners for L2/R2 :/
