Only last gen versions are delayed:

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor have been delayed, Warner has announced.

Both versions require "more time in development," and now launch on 21st November in the UK and 18th November in the US, the publisher said. They had been due out alongside the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, which are unaffected.

Third-person action adventure game Shadow of Mordor comes out on PS4 and Xbox One on 3rd October in the UK and 30th September in the US.

I like Monolith, and I love LoTR, but I can't stand those Batman games. So this is a pass for me. I hope the game does well though, so that Monolith can go on to make other stuff.

I sort of remember them saying there would be 3 big areas. I hope their version of the land surrounding Mount Doom looks as great and desolate as in the movies.

Considering Nolan Norths Black Hand was introduced with two very bossish looking Orcs, I'm guessing 3 areas.

Remember hearing that eventually you start working on a war-page with the black captains at the top.

Wow, those last gen versions are going to get absolutely buried on November 18th. I'm glad they pushed up the current gen version to where it is now. When it releases it's going to have quite a long time on shelves as the only new action/adventure game out there. I really hope this game does well, as Monolith is amazing and doesn't get the love that they deserve.

True enough, but for the longest time he did seem really lazy. There is very little difference between Drake, Desmond and The Prince for example.

I was shocked when he showed off his range in The Last of Us

He actually stated more than once that after Uncharted, publishers/devs would just say "do your voice". He tried giving the Prince more accent, for example, and they were like "nah, just do your voice". They didn't want to market their game as having Nolan North, they wanted to say "we have Nathan Drake".

North is amazing, please don't call him lazy.

I'm still not entirely sold on this game. I've never been big into LOTR, and I can't really tell if this will be a good game in its own right.

I'm a LOTR fan and honestly, I don't really care about the LOTR influence here. I'm in for Monolith, Troy Baker vs Nolan North and some fun combat.

Gotta admit, that story trailer really got me hyped to play. I dont know everything about the LOTR lore or history, etc. but I love the world and look forward to playing this.

I want this game.

I need this game.

This game looks amazing and I like how true they're staying with the series with this game.

I'm on media blackout for this game out of fear for spoilers.

I would love to talk about how hype I am for this game with fellow Gaffers but the risks of spoilers makes it so I won't come back to this thread.

Stay hype for this game Gaf.

Forgive my ignorance, being in the Evil Within thread too long.

Super hyped for this game as I loved the Return of the King game by miles, but what do you really do when you're not fighting? Just seen alot of gameplay of dood, running around the land all day on super pig and raiding bases, have no idea what's inbetween.

I'll get hyped if this game has RPG elements, like customization, side quests, meaningful conversation, etc.
Not sure about how meaningful conversations are, but there's plenty of choice in the game even with just the Nemesis system and you can customize your equipment with runes and there are plenty of non-mandatory quests/things to do (a lot of which can revolve around the Nemesis system).

Yup. Definitely more action than RPG, but it's got plenty of RPG elements, too.

The Batman Arkham games not being for everyone I can get, but what made you actively dislike them so much? It not being your type of game is one thing "can't stand it" is another, I'm genuinely curious what it is that you so dislike....

The combat from the Arkham games being Monolith's inspiration is one of the main reasons I started paying attention to Shadow of Mordor, then finding out all about their nemesis system just got me super interested in it and now its one of my most anticipated games!! Day One...

After reading up on this thread I ended up preordering on GMG. Game mechanics look quite solid.

Hoping for a good PC-version.

So this is basically the next good(hopefully) game to come out, right?

Fingers crossed but it looks really, really promising so far!! I get why their media coverage has been so focused on the nemesis system and everything, its a big innovation and something totally unique about the game, but it does have me wondering how much more there is to the game. I know there are story missions, side missions focused on your weapons and some side characters, but I'm hoping there are aspects that offer other types of gameplay besides what looks to be the excellent melee combat....

It's unfortunate that I was only able to play for about 20 minutes so I could explore the Nemesis system. However, the combat and stealth options were top-notch. Very Batman and Asscreedy. Ran very well on the PS4(99% sure 60fps).

Oooooh didn't know about 60fps, thought it looked too pretty for that.

Nolan North and Troy Baker make me much more interested in the game. Maybe this could be like Batman: Arkham Asylum a game that surprises everyone.

While I'm not particularly bothered about who stars in it, I am slowly beginning to think that this could be an Arkham Asylum situation. I remember not paying much attention to it because lol superhero games. I think this is suffering the same thing of lol licensed games, but watching it seems like it really could be the sleeper hit of the year.

It's fucking Mordor, not the Malibu beach or something.

I know :)

Only saying I think could be possible do 'fucking' Mordor where you can say if it's day time or night only looking at your character. Opressive lighting doesn't mean boring color representation, right?
