Well thank god for that, my badI know, I was being sarcastic.
What happens when the console is just a cog of an ecosystem aka an entryway? The lanes that separate the console/pc/portable are no longer there.I keep hearing this every generation and every generation it ends up being wrong. Consoles have been “dying” or on the way out since the PS3 generation lol
Honestly what I've noticed is a lot of people who have this theory just don't seem to understand how far behind the rest of the world is when it comes to internet.I'm sorry you have a bad internet connection...ir that PS Plus Premium doesn't work well where you tried it.
I also didn't say it was the same. I said "barely notice anything different"
Agreed. He reminds me a lot of Jaffee in that he thinks AA gaming and shorter games are the answer. I think shorter games can help but wont do much. I personally think with how well things are going with AI that it will be the reason cost are able to come back down in AAA gaming. Which sucks because that means a lot of people lose their job.Shawn Layden sounds increasingly like a disgruntled former employee. Just seems to have a negative outlook on damn near everything.
Which is why i'm not talking about something that's happening now of even in 10 years. It's 20 years from now.Honestly what I've noticed is a lot of people who have this theory just don't seem to understand how far behind the rest of the world is when it comes to internet.
I know I am might be in minority for not looking at graphics and performance. So you mean indies. You’re in the minority around here. Most only care about graphics, not gameplay or art design.

Consoles have a place because they are a lower cost of entry for accessing that software. The strength of them matters less than having compelling software(games). How is the bolded different from 1991, 1998, or 2004?

It doesn’t matter which platform you prefer if it doesn’t have games that you want to play.
Having said that. I read the article expecting it to be about streaming or all digital, and it wasn’t quite that. Consoles aren’t going away anytime soon and I don’t see any one thing replacing them.
Is it me ? Or have I heard this exact same thing since the PS3 days ?

Are we defining console by name a company states, its function or thermal max.

He's a lot like Jaffee honestly. Wants shorter games, thinks indies are the last bastion of gaming, and that there are no new ideas in the AAA space just indies. I get the want for new ideas\innovation but COD is the best selling or one of the best selling games year after year there are lots of people ok with getting the same game or slightly different.Exactly! What does he actually look positively forwarded to in the video game space?
Fanboys would finally stop I’m in!
Oh good, more corporate executives bleating about how nothing except growth matters. It's as mental as it is tiresome.
