Shazam! Fury of the Gods Reviews. The new big DC superhero movie that sucks just as hard as the previous shitty superhero movie.

And it don't hurt that Ortega and Liu were hot as shit in it, either.

Assuming you mean Jenna Ortega, she wasn’t in the movie. Are you thinking of Rachel Zegler who played Anthea?

Yeah, that's bullshit. Ant-man did badly because people are fed up with Disney's endless factory production line of 'content' and Shazam 2 failed because people are fed up with the endless shit DCEU movies.

So in 2023, people randomly made this sudden decision despite the box office for Marvel and DC movies in 2022 (Black Adam being the only one that underperformed) saying the exact opposite?

We’ll see who’s right when the rest of them come out…

Personally I think all of Marvel's output will underperform or straight out flop this year. GotG3 won't make what GotG2 did, and Marvels is going to tank.

Same goes for DC... with the possible exception of Flash, thanks to the 'memberberry element with Keaton. Though I don't think it'll do more than break even, given the colossal budget behind it.

Zero superhero movies will crack a billion this year, that's for certain.

To be fair both Thor 4 and BP2 underperformed and the yeah before Black Widow, the Eternals and Shang-Chi flopped.

750 million and 850 million don’t seem like underperforming to me. It’s lower than their prior films in their respective series but still much more than Ant-man 3 did.

I don't know about anything else, but these overpaid, entitled little shitbag celebrities turning on each other the second their movies fail is the best thing to come out of this whole mess.

Thor 4 had a boxoffice to production budget ratio of 3.04 vs 4.74 for Thor 3.

BP was 6.91 vs BP2’s 3.44.

So, yes, they underperformed.

Saw it with my Son last night.. there was a grand total of about 4 other people in the theater (but it is a small town, kids movie on a school night....I mean even John Wick 4 didn't fill the lot)

Honestly I enjoyed it.. it's not a great movie but it is a solid movie.. and these days that's well above the average with superhero movies.

I like that for once a gay character is just a normal kid and not some over the type parody of a gay person..
I was unsure how into my son was for much of it until the ending where there is a cameo that comes in.. I saw my son actually throw his hands up in the air like 'YES!!!"

The series sort of has to end here because there is no reason for Levi to pretend to be a kid anymore, Billy is almost 18..that ride is over.
I actually feel like his impression is less of a kid and more of a Bert Kreischer impression these days..
I mean I like it but it also no longer makes sense... kid Billy was way more serious than Shazam Billy.

The villian arc was weak at the end.. the only thing that amused me was.

My Ex Wife looks like Lucy Lui, like when we first got married people in public thought it was her and would ask for pictures and autographs
My son has never seen a Lucy Lui movie and he was like "That looks like Mommy"
When she starts getting nasty and hurting people he made me laugh so hard because he says "She acts like Mommy too"
that kid knows why Daddy left home.

Saw this twice, once in IMAX and once in 4DX. Enjoyed it more the second time around, the first time only felt it was so-so. As one of the last hurrahs of DC world that Snyder began, it could have been worse (like Morbius which was absolutely trash or WW84 which was boring).

Not as good as the first but still entertaining I'm not sure what the hate it all about. Found it more enjoyable than MoM, Wakanda Forever, and Antman 3. Then again I actually thought Thor 4 was better than those movies and saw that at least a couple of times in theaters.

I thought Black Adam was great entertainment and it's a shame we'll never see these two face off on screen. I also loved BvS Director's Cut and JL Snydercut. As well as both Suicide Squad and The Suicide Squad. Also looking forward to Gunn's Superman Legacy even though I think they are making a mistake with the partial reboot.

Why do people put themselves in camps of what comic movies they like lol?

Saw it today. It was decent, usual sequel stuff
The villains were TERRIBLE though, had no real plan, they made no sense, didn't seem like a threat, and the "I'm 6 THOUSAND years old and think a BOY is attractive"...Jesus christ!

The Mary actress though,,,holy hell she is smoking. I can see why they kept her for both forms. The black girl shazam woman actress is really cute too. Can't believe they didn't mention anything about the morbidly obese kid at his shazam form though, you'd think his arc would be less about his sexuality and more about making wise life choices to reach his ideal self.

All these superhero films gotta realize we are SO OVER giant cgi spectacle. They could have trimmed 50 mill from the budget by cutting 80% of the six shots and using them for more effect. That dragon should have only been in a few scenes where it would have more menace. I did like the Ray Harryhousen inspired designs but they had little real purpose. More time spent crafting an actual villain plan, giving them concrete goals and desires, and a logical A to B to C sequence instead of "hey, you look inexplicably young compared to us , go infiltrate this school and get close to a kid who met a Shazam in the hopes he will take us to one" instead of, I dunno, create ANY level of chaos in the city, knowing they will come running in?

End credit scenes seem pretty Gunn approved to me, hell, his girlfriend/wife is in one. Shazam might stick around? Funny there was 200% more cursing in the end credit scenes than the rest of the film. Do they not count towards the rating? I'd be down for Shazam and Black Adam myself.

Flash trailer looks DOOOPPPE though. I'm on board with brunette pixie cut Supergirl! Surprised there was no Aquaman, how far back did they push it?
