Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is more like that so I'm glad there going in a different direction with Shinobi. I played the Ragebound demo and that was quite good but grunt enemy combat felt kind of lackluster at times. This seems to have much deeper combat and more interesting enemies. The entire visuals, art and combat are a huge turn off to me. The game is trying way too hard to be "radical and cool", as if Shinobi was about this. Shinobi was about serious tone and dealing with enemies as fast as you can. Not about being cool looking and showing off.
Looks good but for some reason I'm leaning more towards Ninja Gaiden Ragebound. Maybe because they had a demo and the first level of that was fire.
What if you had to pick one? Where's a poll when you need one.It seems to play different from Ragebound which is cool.

That's a tough one since I will most likely pick them both! Playing the hard mode in the Ragebound demo got me hyped so I'm biased towards Ragebound. If you had to pick one? Where's a poll when you need one?
Offtopic but have you checked out the Absolum demo on Steam? It also has some of the SoR4 devs behind it and it plays very much like SoR4.I'm a much bigger fan of the NG series. But as far as individual developers, I'm pretty optimistic about Shinobi. Streets of Rage 4 literally was my GOTY the year it came out and is probably the greatest beat em up ever made. This isn't the full multiple teams that worked on that, but its some of them. Personally I was a bit lukewarm on Blasphemous so I'm hoping they really nail Ragebound. Both look really good.
Ninjas are back
Nope. I'm aware of it but I'm still console only for now. I'll definitely be getting it and I kind of suspect that the true gameplay chops come from those guys, but its never been explicitly spelled out.Offtopic but have you checked out the Absolum demo on Steam?
