Doesn't make sense to me either unless:
- Sony Japan is not a good partner for these smaller studios, has screwed them over in the past.
- They are trying to grow their install base by continuing on a MS console.
- Perhaps the devs just like working with MS, possibly because of moneyhat possibly because MS gives them a better deal.
Either way, I don't own a XONE and never will so if they eventually come out for PS4 cool if not, c'est la vie.
Since I have an XB1, I'm fine with this but it's still very interesting. Sony did screw over indie/non-3D devs in the past. The PS3 was difficult to develop for and the 360 made it easy to get smaller games. Sony changed their tune, and near the end of the PS3 life-cycle, we start seeing more shmups (even Raiden).
There's a game by the name of Volgarr - kind of inline with shmups - oldschool. very tough, 16-bit art, etc. The dev had a hard time getting on Sony platforms, but MS easily hooked them up for an XB1 port. Volgarr is a hardcore game. My guess is Sony is just very selective and still want things that have broader appeal.
With all their 3rd party focus, especially on Vita, I just have no idea what's going on with Sony.
