CAVE has never been married to a certain price point or a certain format, they've acquiesced on these supposed sticking points many times now.
The issue is that both their arcade and consumes games divisions have been gutted and they've allegedly lost many of their key personnel, and they've repeatedly stated that they will no longer be investing in or directly developing any more consumer ports of their own games.
I'm not saying that their games will never be ported anywhere else--they're still open to external licensing, so there are opportunities for other publishers/devs with ins at CAVE to license these games and port them to whichever platforms they like, provided they're willing to finance everything and handle the work themselves--but CAVE cannot and does not want to do these things on its own.
The upcoming Fantasy Zone II DX port is even better, I think. They added a completely new mode called Link Loop Land that's very fast and quite manic.
And hopefully Degica, Nyu Media, Playism, or other similar companies are willing to flip the bill.
I seriously doubt those companies have the kind of cash Cave expects to get for their license.

Oh wow. Triangle is listed as the publisher, so probably a digital release. Was this any good? I don't remember ever seeing any videos of it.
Akai Katana looks very attractive and has a great soundtrack, but I think a lot of players found the scoring system a bit confusing. The storyline is pretty grim too.
Definitely at least worth a try if you like bullet hell games though.
I would automatically say that it's not worth wasting ones time with, but I hate Triangle Service, so my opinion may be a bit biased. If I was being objective, I'd say depends on the price. Under $10, go for it, anything else, forget it. It's essentially a shmup mini-game collection.

Muchi Muchi Pork & Pink Sweets for Xbox 360

I know this isn't the B/S/T thread, but I'm having a hard time tracking it down.
I can't believe how I paid just 24$ for the Cave The Best sku less than a year ago thanks to a deal posted in this very thread (or was it the Cave's thread, dunno) and last week they offered me $150 cash for my *used* copy 0_O
I've almost caved in but in the end I'm glad I refused since unless they port it again in the future this one's bound to only go up and up in the future. Mint sealed copies easily sell for $350.
If you dig the novelty, go for it. I love Masaya, but I admit they miss more often than they hit.
Who actually developed Cho Aniki Zero? Masaya hasn't existed for a while now, and the only thing I can find says Zero was made by extreme Co., Ltd. And the only other stuff they seem to develop is mobile mahjong games. They're also the current distributor for Masaya's old stuff, having published a bunch of their PS1 Classics on JPSN.
Also Cho Aniki Zero isn't very good.
Are there any games that take advantage of 21:9 monitor yet?
So I snagged up a copy of Gradius V off of amazon a while back. Got a great deal for it, it was one of those deals that sounded to good to be true but the buyer had great feedback and sure enough it was legit. Paid $30 for the game with disc, manual and game case which were all in pristine condition.
Started playing it again tonight, I haven't played it in nearly a decade and holy shit I forgot how awesome this game is. Only made it to level 3 tho......... so hard to recover if you die at a bad spot![]()
Depending on the respawn type it's easier to recover than the older games, I think. You have the chance to collect your options after dying in the default setting. You can choose to do the checkpoint thing if you want though, haha.
That's absurd. I suppose a reprint is out of the question this late in the 360s life too. Shame.
Got one! I can't believe the site had it. $75. Could've been worse!
Brand new "cave best" version from Videogames New York. They have an online store, but only a few left!$75 for a copy? That half what it sells (not goes, actually sells) on eBay for used copies, it's a fantastic deal, it'd be great if you could tell us where did you find a copy and in what conditions.
Regardless, congrats!

edit: just to be clear, the prices I quoted above are for The Cave The Best version (I was referring to the version I own but maybe it wasn't clear) which is weirdly more valuable than the regular edition. You can easily find the latter for 100Eur used (almost double that for a sealed copy), maybe even less than $100/90 if you're lucky.
Sealed CTB sku it worth almost double a regular sealed FPE copy.
Yeah that is strange. It's the same game with the same content in an uglier (my opinion) package.Does it hold an updated revision, or is it just a case of less-printed collectable material?
What does it say in the trailer? It still looks to be an STG of some sorts.
This sexy piece finally showed up today.

Was able to put in an order for the $70 price. Going to be a gift for a friend - still by far and away the cheapest online.
