Yeah, was hoping they would follow up on that also. Sometimes it ends up being unrelated and just caught up in the clusterfuck that is a shooting.
 
As the motivation for lots of things like this is fame and attention there is a part of me that feels that they should treat it like streakers at sporting events.

Yes, we should know what is happening around us, but if it could help reduce the number of horrible incidents like this one then its worth it.

we're living in a country(a world really) that believes in vengeance and retribution. Its too many people's baseline mentality. It feels good.

"somebody gotta pay" is the saying rather than "i gotta find a solution"
 
I hope the victims survive and we get valuable clues from the teen on how to identify and combat those who suffer from such dark mental issues
 
Hoping for the best to those injured. Always sad news when school shootings come up, even moreso when it involves kids this young and helpless.

And Ill echo the other parents in this thread: my kid will start school next year and stories like this scare the shit out of me.
 
Im glad things got under control and the people who are injured are stable. I was really worried we were about to have another Sandy Hook

We cant identify and prevent these occurrences by killing them off after the fact

Getting the suspect alive and the victims potentially surviving is a positve outcome

Maybe psycologists and neurologists can learn something new here
 
I read the thread title as 'in my country' and thought it was somewhere outside the US. Then, I'm shamed to admit, the news felt less shocking when I realized my mistake. Still absolutely terrible of course
 
You know, you want stuff like this to be reported but I wonder if constant news like this is actually emboldening some of these sick fucks to outdo each other. Hopefully they all live.

There was a death in connection, but not at the school. That's still being investigated elsewhere. There's a WYFF newscrew at that scene but they are having tech difficulties.

Everyone accounted for.

These incidents are so sad :( Whatever system facilitated this escalation needs to be evaluated, but of course the blame is always elsewhere than the gun.

The shooter's name remains unknown. Sadly, I have seen reports that one of the children--a kindergartner--is in critical condition.
 
I now know who the shooter is, his dad, the 6 year old in critical condition, etc... The info is online if you look for it, and it is legit.

I've also heard about the shooter that he was going to school but after a number of incidents he started to be homeschooled. One incident took place on the schoolbus that my cousin was also riding at the time.

My cousins are fine, but they are traumatized. Their mom posted the following just now...

She included a photo of them, indeed, holding hands asleep on the couch. This is all beyond heartbreaking. I don't have the words. It's one thing to see this on the news but an entire other to actually be so close to us.

To update, new information on the little six year old boy that was shot. He lost 75% of blood in his body which put him into cardiac arrest. They just announced on local news that he has now been placed on life support. If you are religious then please send up a prayer for him, and if not then at least send him good vibes.

Many of us are trying. Our President is trying. Sadly, there is mounting evidence that money speaks louder than the deaths of children.

Heart is breaking for those kids and families. Sending good vibes to the little boy who is on life support.
 
Here we go again, I just feel so fucking numb and terrible.

It is like it is happening every week at this point.

I just don't understand it.
