To update, new information on the little six year old boy that was shot. He lost 75% of blood in his body which put him into cardiac arrest. They just announced on local news that he has now been placed on life support. If you are religious then please send up a prayer for him, and if not then at least send him good vibes.

Oh my God :(
Poor kid.
Prayers and thoughts go to his family that will eventually have to make the hardest decision of their lives.
So sorry.

He'll be in my thoughts, I hope he pulls through.

Many of us are trying. Our President is trying. Sadly, there is mounting evidence that money speaks louder than the deaths of children.

Heart is breaking for those kids and families. Sending good vibes to the little boy who is on life support.
If Sandy Hook's tragedy didn't change anything in regards to guns in this country, then nothing will.

So is your constructive response.

Me? I vote and raise money.

Because I live here and it could be my kid next
But more importantly an AR 15 is not an assault weapon and a clip is not a magazine so there's no problem.

Charged as a juvenile? Is this some sick joke, or are the laws really written as such to where it would be impossible to crush him under the entirety of the system's weight because of his age?

If they're showing this [expletive] even the smallest amount of leniency... >;{

He's a probabbly white kid--looking at the demographics of the town. Are you still surprised?

To be fair, he should be charge as a juvenlie. It's just sad this is not the standard across the states.

To be fair? As if he committed this atrocity in the year 2018 he'd magically be more dangerous to society, or the crime would somehow be a bigger blight against his character than it is now? I know adolescent psychologically is complex, but that's no excuse to leave even an inch of wiggle room for evil of this unfathomable magnitude.

Luckily it sounds like arresting and charging anyone who is that age as a minor is standard procedure. Prosecution has 30 days to request trying him as an adult.

I can't even imagine the logic that goes into thinking this guy should someday be a free man again.

It's the idea that people can change. No one murders people like this if they are perfectly okay. It is possible that he can get his issues fixed, especially since he is this young.

As far as I can tell most of the US judiciary system could do with more "leniency".

Looking over Wikipedia, there are hundreds of school shootings in the US just this millenium. This doesn't happen in any other country in the world, so clearly yes there is a major issue which could be chalked up to the USA having a terminal illness.

Anyway, this is awful and as a dad of three these stories always make me tearful. Hope the little guy is in a better place.

Eh the entire country isn't diseased which is I think what he was pointing out. This is an issue that we should be fixing, but every country has issues like that. The US may be worse than its peers in having problems, but it's not far far worse.

Jesus Christ, we are heartbroken, I can't believe this. Please view these two Facebook posts, share them. The world needs to see them both. The second one features a picture of him in his hospital bed, with his family. I don't have any further words at this time...

What a good looking kid. It'll be hard, but they'll learn to smile again. His picture just made me think he looks like he was a very happy child. I'm sorry, little buddy..fuck life..

That second link is devastating

that poor kid, his poor parents

I hate this

My wife and I are in a restaurant right now and I'm almost in tears reading everything. They aren't having a normal funeral for him because they don't want it to be scary for the many kids that will be there. It will be a super hero themed funeral and he will be buried in his costume, paulbearers will be dressed up, and they encourage everyone that attends to wear hero costumes or some sort ofclothing of some sort as well...

Fuck man, I'm at my desk at work and that second picture has just made me start crying a bit. The fucking evil in this world, man.

They are live streaming the visitation tonight and his funeral tomorrow. A company from another state that has professionals dress up as superheroes sent Batman in the Batmobile to honor him and to give the little kids attending something to smile about.

Here is the video...

EDIT:

The family invited the media to show the world the face of what this is really like, and to allow the world to celebrate his life with them.

Just saw some pics, it's so sad, but also funny in an innocent way.

Oh now that second link is just so sad, especially with that teen titans go blanket on him. Fuck this world, damn.

My family are all wearing our superhero shirts today. This shit is so heartbreaking. Especially when you have little boys.

We Americans continue to value our guns over our children's lives. I don't have any words for how heartbroken, angry, and helpless I feel. This isn't fair. How do you even begin to solve this problem when half the country thinks that dead children are a small price to pay to cling to their guns?
