Here's mine, not nearly as impressive as most of yours!

What speakers are those? It looks like Dfeldt's AudoEngine 2.

You're not making me feel any better, you know. I'll probably just not post my setup now lest you guys are making fun of me later, hahaha.

Gaming is a very expensive hobby where I live, so my setup is, frankly speaking, very pathetic compared to all of you. It's like ants staring at the heights of giants!

No need to be ashamhed. Everyone starts somewhere. We just have to be proud and thankful for that which we already have.

I was wondering when someone would post The_Force's amazing home again, saw it the first time in an old thread and then found the full set of pics on AVforums, it's just amazing and a huge inspiration to me. :D

It's amazing what a little organization can do! I recently came into some good fortune and got a free 27in POS-TFT-LCDTV, the blacks look like film negatives. But the price was right. It works great as a second monitor to have iTunes or Twitter open or whatever. Anyway, receiving the panel spurred me to do a little rethinking of my setup, and this is what I came up with. Its badass.

Wii
PS3 Slim
360 Elite

Oppo BDP93
Pioneer Elite SC 35
Panasonic 65VT30
How do you like the SC 35? I'm thinking of upgrading to that myself.

Well I upgraded from an Elite VSX 23TXH to this. I was going to pull the trigger on the SC37 for the 32bit BurrBrown processor but I didn't since I didn't listen to much music at the time. Now that I have had it for awhile I'm very very happy with it, though I do wish I went with the 37, because I'm starting to listen to my music.

Overall it is a hell of an upgrade. It was between this, the Denon 4311CI, and Yamaha RX-A2000. I found the Clarity of the Elite to be superiour while still remaining punchy with a brightness to the sound. The Ice Power amp keeps this thing running cool at all times. Much cooler then my VSX. YOu can tell also that on my old elite the difference in power is ridiculous. -20 on my old Elite is about the equivalent of -30 on the SC. In comparison to the Denon, the Denon was nice and gives you a lot of bang for your buck, but it had a consistent, somewhat warm sound. To me it seemed it was missing that punch. While the Yamaha was just too bright for my taste.

Their are a few features that I would have liked to have seen on the SC35 but oh well there is always next years models =)

For movies and games this thing is un matched for the general price range IMHO

LOL I started with a 19" crt that my mom got me for Christmas from Walmart. I used that for pretty much all of last Gen. Just buy shit in pieces. Get a 32" flat screen, then some speakers, then a receiver, then finish out your 5/7.1 system. Before you know it you'll be a snob like the rest of us.

I dont think that I could stand up in your room.

Is it the angle of the pic, or is everything super low to the ground?

Your chair (if it's authentic Eames) is worth more than your entire setup.

If I'm thinking of the right guy, he was complaining at first that it didn't match any of his stuff, despite that it's worth more than like... all of it. I chuckled.

If its not a knockoff, its probably worth more than the contents of his entire HOME, if the bedroom is any indication of the rest of the house!

The gaming setup threads are my favourite and I've been following them for years. They also inspired me to upgrade my stuff little by little. Now that my account has been approved, I am really excited to be able to post in this thread. :D

I'm a student at the moment so here is my room, hopefully I'll be able to post photos of my own apartment in a few months. :)

Just moved into my new house a month ago and I have my own gaming room with an ensuite (yay!), and I've been getting everything in there and massaging it all into place.

I still have some stuff to do, and that CRT TV is being replaced with a Widescreen one that I have at my parents place.

I haven't taken enough pics. I think there's some stuff you can't see here, like all my portable consoles, which are in the cupboard with DKC on top.

Sorry about the quality, poor lighting doesn't seem to be the iPhone 4's friend.

I'll be back in here once everything is more settled.

I aslo have a 360 up in my study for LAN purposes.

Don't do it, man. The best use of a CRT is for retro games, right? How many retro games are widescreen? Practically none. For retro you want a standard definition 4:3 CRT.

Seriously, if you have 16:9 screens elsewhere, why be redundant with the CRT?

If you're NOT using it for retro gaming, however, then I'm a bit more confused as to why.

My new gaming setup for the next year! Till summer 2012 I'll be at 9000 feet elevation with little power and no internet so a handful of portables is what I'll be using. All the rest of my game collection was put into storage this afternoon ;-( Plenty of shooters and RPGs on the handhelds and my iPhone, though!

Thank you so much. ^_^ I need to replace those two chairs though, they're a few years old now and not as comfortable anymore as they were in the beginning, covers are also starting to slowly come apart. :/
Also some really nice posts lately, always love seeing people's setups.

Dawg :( It's like they keep shoving you into worse and worse gaming situations :(

This is my first post of my setup, so there will be a lot of pics. Just a small warning for all of you. And sorry about the semi-crappy quality, they were all taken with my phone.

Here is the main Family Room with the awesome built-ins that were here when we bought the house:

Here are a coupe close-up shots of my Fallout Shelf and BioShock Shelf. And here is a better pic of the awesome Chrono Trigger shadow box that my wife made. (If you are wondering about the "R," it is because it's the first letter of my name.)

And here is our "Hobby Room" that I use for my retro gaming and the wife uses for her scrapbooking.

Been meaning to take pics of the living room for a while now to gloat, but here it is!

Got my 3 mains from NHT from a while ago, have my PS3, 360, Wii, Onkyo SR806, DVR, and WDTV Live (with an external removable hard drive attached) on my entrainment unit where my 61" LED DLP sits. This is for non-important playing/multiplayer/random TV watching/etc. Oh and what's that going across the top....?

ZNMvFl.jpg

This is where I sit (and my puppy as indicated in the picture), and yes, that's my Epson 8350 1080p projector :) I don't know how I convinced my wife to allow that visual abomination stay there, but I'm glad I got the A-OK because:

About as bad as it gets. That said, I've got about 100 games across my handhelds...plenty to keep me busy. It will be fun to go handheld for the year.

Not meaning to pry, but what do you do? You seem to move around a lot. Unless i have you confused with someone else, which I may well be.

Also have a 360 and PS3 in my living room, but nothing special. I never use the PS3.

I need help GAF! I'm currently making a little retro nook for my older consoles and my dad made me this shelf last week. Now all that's in place, but as you can see the back and side is completely white and kinda ugly as of now. I want videogame art to put on there (preferably retro Nintendo, but I'm open to suggestions) but I can't really think of anything cool to put on there.

2po6skw.jpg

Right now, I'm thinking maybe like a huge Mario piranha plant for the side panel; so a pipe at the bottom and a piranha plant that goes all the way to the top, but as it's quite high I think the effect will get lost. Or maybe I could recreate a part from Metroid or Super Metroid (or any other game with vertical levels) and put it there.

As for the back, I have no idea. I could just plaster it with a variety of artwork, but this is an opportunity for something original. I was even thinking about a mural of some sort like that fella that covered his wall with awesome Day of the Tentacle art. Thing is...that sounds like a lot of work and I'm not even sure how to go about something like that.

So...any suggestions?

I approve this cooler. A bitch to clean though.

edit: damn, you've almost the same setup as me. I guess you are using a Corsair PSU too.
Corsair HX-650.

How do you go about cleaning the Zalman?
