Sigh...Signs of development hell has surfaced for 343 Industries. I'm moving on.

Ha, my earlier post didn't age very well

Halo just needs to be put out to pasture. It's sad at this point.
No way lol, the IP is still massive and Halo 5 made $400 million in its first week alone despite the tepid reception.

On another note, the people seriously blaming 343s difficulties on a group of 20 or so women and out of 450+ employees are pure idiots. I said when 343 first began their hiring spree years ago that they were hiring far too many elite, experienced leads to have an efficient structure and I stand by that; too many cooks spoiling the broth. As for Bungie leaving, we can only speculate but if you just want to be independent, you don't enter into a golden handcuffs deal with Activision lol. It sounds like there may have been a bit of bad blood behind the scenes.

I'm in a weird position because Halo is one of, if not my, favourite franchises of all time but DOOM was so good and part of me feels like I'm happy for Halo to finally die and Doom to retake it's place as the greatest FPS franchise of all time.

The only thing missing from the Doom franchise currently is brilliant multiplayer.

Give me some incredible Doom MP and MS once again owns the greatest FPS franchise.

Or maybe the Quake reboot will give us the best of DOOM SP with the brilliance of Quake 3 Arena MP? Cum in my mouth.

343 to be replaced by Rip & Tear Games in 2021.

I think a group of mostly white nerdy men have a much better chance of creating a good, productive and creative work environment than a diverse group. I think there is much less politics involved, much less anxiety about not being politically correct and much more freedom of thought.

Unleash the hate.
Well, that is a load of bullshit

I've talked about 343 a lot, check my post history, so I'll keep this short. I think it's myopic to focus on women and 343. I've talked a little bit on that topic previously and I'd rather not beat a dead horse. Let's remember that the disjointed story decisions, puzzling gameplay choices, and bizarre art direction were made by men over the past 10 years. Halo failed back when dev on 4 began long before these photos were taken.

It's a symptom though. Back when anyone cared about Halo it was *famous* for being a frat boy franchise. Proudly deciding that what Halo needed most was more women nagging you about playing it too much shows... well. Here we are.

He's not wrong, though.

But Miss Frizzle on The Magic School Bus says #diversity is our strength!

There are plenty of men in this photo that are equally responsible for the state of Halo Infinite. If you want to criticize 343i's team, that's fine, but cherry picking the photo showcasing the female talent that was posted on international women's day just shows your true intentions. You just don't like women making your games. Just take a deep breath, relax, and give your mom a call. There's obviously some stuff you have to work out there.
Nope she's the blame as she's the boss.

It's hilarious because on era they whine 343 is too white. Here people are saying too many women lol.

Personally I think they just need to get their shit together. I'd be curious to know if people in 343 felt sidelined for leadership roles due to their gender.

I'd love to be a woman in tech...

The only place diversity really matters is marketing. It's stupid for a company to really push it or for fans to want it. It is not a positive for your final product and does not produce a better product. Hiring the best people for the job no matter their skin tone or gender is going to do that. Some people that are really good at something don't fit in with the team either and wont work as well. There is a system to hiring and working together and diversity isn't the winner people think it is.

Start taking estrogen and go full blast. You can be a woman in tech if you want to.

As unfair as that is it's actually true. But if you live in a country where the population is majority white there's not really anything unfair about the dev team comprising of that.

No... He is wrong.
How so?

There have been studies regarding people naturally feeling more at ease with others of the same race (it doesn't guarantee better results but it probably helps the chances of better teamwork). I'd argue a diverse team isn't even the real problem so much as it is the enforcement of political correctness in the workplace. These days people can lose their jobs pretty easily over that shit (in the tech industry particularly). It doesn't matter if you were joking, misinterpreted, or whatever, it's all about perception now and that is going to make the environment feel less friendly. People will be more on edge.
