Edge makes it sound like it only get easy if you upgrade your items. Apparently the game was balanced with the base items in mind. Makes me wonder if the upgrade system was a late addition.
I doubt it. It sounds like a typical Nintendo decision to make the base game completable for everyone and then allow the more dedicated gamers to have challenging side stuff.

Well till I play it I'm going with this quote

A new user-led upgrade system, on the other hand, strikes Skyward Sword’s single dull note. Resembling a My First Monster Hunter, globs of goo and ornamental skulls are swapped for tougher shields, bigger ammo pouches and deadlier arrows. Scooping insects with a butterfly net lets you supercharge potions, too. But such avenues jar with an adventure balanced for the base items. Odds don’t need swinging in Link’s favour; they’re just right.

They say it's just right without the upgrades so for now that's all we have to go on.

I bought a Wii and pre-ordered Skyward Sword yesterday. Hype levels are through the roof. What an insanely awesome November we have ahead.

I love the mix of cel-shaded faces, and realistic backgrounds and bodies. Never knew Nintendo changed the graphics.
Also, that suit looks great on link, whats the name of it?

It's the goddamn Linksuit.

I'm posting this link for 2 things.

1. It's the first preview (preview, not review) that really has something negative to say about the game. They complain that the game is less linear and adventurous, that is it more open, light and chaotic (seriously, they complain about that, of all things?)

They also complain that, while the WiiMotion+ give you full control of Link's sword, the game often ask you to slice in precise directions, something they say the WiiMotion+ doesn't always execute well (that MIGHT be a calibration problem, though).

They complain that the first 2 dungeons still feel like an introduction. (Something they say the 3rd dungeon erases completely.)

2. They SEEM to spoil something big about the 3rd Dungeon of the game. I mean, BIG! Pretty fucking big. They say 3rd Dungeon
overall theme plays with the notion of time and space and that it is in fact the Temple of Time itself. But I'm not convinced it is. The way they write it, it translate to: "For the brilliance of certain sections and the superb twist outlined during this temple of Time," and NOT Temple of Time. So they may just be refering to the temple's time and space mechanic.

LOL.... One man's trash is another man's treasure, indeed (I'm, of course, referencing the Uncharted 3 review thread. Don't shoot me!).

And i was thinking that this game could not be any more OMFG HYPE to me than already is ...

Was thinking more for all the people who want a Wii U Dual Analog Port, but sure that works.

So I guess they are looking for a more linear experience then. Nothing wrong with a well designed linear game but I've been wanting Zelda games to become more open for awhile now.

The third dungeon sounds like it'll be awesome. The idea of messing with time and space should really work well.
Them saying the first two dungeons feel like an introduction makes sense. I think the first few dungeons of most Zelda games feel simple compared to later ones.

You have the link in french, use Google translate.

IT IS the Temple of time. if it's the temple's time it would translate to " le temps du temple". "Le temple du temps" is in fact THE temple we all know and love
