Oh god that's a tough one!! No dust but not aligned, hmmm I'd keep that as it is
(Should have used the hinge technique if you didn't)
Wait, you guys apply the screen protector while the bathroom is still steamy? Wouldn't that like trap moisture under the glass or something? I thought you're supposed to wait a bit for the steam to clear first.
This is a super dumb, paranoid question, but for those using the amFilm protector, did you use the alcohol wipe it comes with before applying? Was it ok to use on the Switch screen?
I used it, no problems
Edit:
so, like I said yesterday aftrer 48hours of zero problems and no bubbles, little bubbles started to appear at the edge of the screen protector from amFILM. The protector was applied perfectly, if I might say so, no dust under it and the screen was cleaner than out of the box.
good news is, it did not get worse over night. the bubbles do not get bigger and no new ones appeared. I can press the bubbles out, but they re-appear after a few minutes.
they're nearly invisible to see without light shining on them too.
As long as it stays that way and does not get worse, I'm goodThat can happen with any screen protector actually. It's rare but it can happen.
Battery life is not sufficient on the Switch. Without a doubt they will release a Switch Pro using nvidia's latest Pascal 16nm FinFet die (coming from the 20nm on the current Switch), so I went ahead and purchased additional chargers. EDIT: hmm, looks like it could be so
Also purchased a $1.50 moleskin padding that was recommended by a few earlier in the thread.

Bent dock that you guys have been talking about. Looks to be a manufacturing issue. I have never seen an electronic equipment this shoddy and cheap, especially if it's coming from a reputable brand like Nintendo.

Moleskin padding installed. Tested it a few times docking/undocking and it was a tight fit but at least it won't scratch.
Well, I gave into my paranoia and ordered one of these:

Once I get it, I'll report back to everyone of what I think of the quality of the inner material and if it will actually help.
Nintendo will have created a whole cottage industry with this dock design.
I'm convinced bent docks are part of the problem, and I'm also convinced padding the inside of the dock with felt or whatever else will not help. This is just my opinion, but I know at my house dust/small particles would eventually get caught in said felt. Without owning a Switch myself all I can say is be careful.
Just spent 10 minutes trying to remove the left side of my Hori screen protector to remove this long bit of dust underneath with tape....no luck, the thing seems to be on propertried with using sticky tape and then pulling outwards and up slightly, even with more pressure. Think I'll leave it haha.
Doesn't it vent out the top?I'd recommed taking off the moleskin strip which touches the back of the Switch. You really don't need both sides covered (especially that your dock bends in), and making it a tight fit won't be good in the long run, and especially for ventilation.
Been using mine both in and out of the dock a bunch since launch without any screen protector... Not a scratch on it.
Not saying this isn't an issue, but it seems like (at least in my case) as long as a bit of care is used when docking, this isn't a major concern.
Not gonna read 4000 posts so let me ask: Has this been confirmed? Am I better off waiting for a (stealth) hardware revision that fixes the Joy Con and Switch Hub issues?

Works great. Also great to charge and play on the go since the kickstand blocks the charge port.
Does this actually pass video etc? So TV -> Nintendo dock -> female to male USB C -> this stand?
*edit*
Nope it's micro USB out. This is NOT a solution to the official
dock issue.
It's proven though, you wouldn't clean a monitor with electrical tape, soft part of velcro, or a towel.
My only concern is the sleeve sliding up when you pull the Switch out, or am I just crazy?

I gave up on my DIY solution because I noticed that it was giving me scratches on to the back of the system while I never actually got scratches on the front. The problem with all these dock covers is they increase the pressure on the Switch's fit in the dock, and will cause scratches to the BACK of the Switch. And yes, I'm sure, because I tested with my own console. I KEEP SACRIFICING MY SWITCH IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE!
There is currently no way around the console scratching (either front or rear) unless you either:
1.) Saw off the front of the dock.
2.) Use a female-to-male USB C cable and plug the Switch in free of the crappy dock.
It's confirmed that people are getting scratches.
The exact reasons are unknown, though the most likely culprit in a bent/tight dock.
Don't you want to just sleep the system? It consumes very little power.my dock must be super wide, when I slide my switch in it can wiggle like a centimeter. it's actually annoying as it moves a ton when trying to push the power button (which since the controllers don't have a power button anymore, I if I want to power on/off I have to go to the console like its 2000 again)
1 week in, been undocking/redocking every day with no screen protector and still no scratches (knock on wood). This definitely doesn't appear to be affecting every unit.

It isn't I checked.
He's slated other CableCreation products in the past as well.
Not to say it means these cables aren't good...but who really knows. USB-C is such a shitshow at the moment.

What? You can turn on the console with the home button, and turn it off from the main menu or the quick menu. No need to ever press the power button on the console itself while it's docked...
Sleep mode isn't power off.
Why would you need to power it off?
