Oh shit guys, dont post on gaf abour your 2nd+ PS3 at home or else!!! I remember back when the 360 had really bad Rrods and this guy bought 11+ 360s... ELEVEN.(before 3 yr warranty stuff) I think most 360 owners own more than one. Are they fanboy's? No.

I was about to say I've seen a TON of the bundles at 3 different BB's (since the bundle came out 3 of my friends around the SF Bay Area have gotten them)...

But wow, they are "unavailable" at ALL the stores that come up in the area. Sold out quick!

Yes, it can only be fanboyism. It's certainly not possible that some people use their PS3 as an all around media device, and would like one in another room. :\

I have a 60gb and I am def buying the new PS3 slim.

The bluetooth has broken on mine and I voided the warranty by opening it. After finding nothing to fix I just cleared out the dust and it was working again :lol, saved me a lot from sending it to repair.

However now it seems to have stopped working again, I guess I'll probably open it up again and see what I can do. Just hoping the slim does b/c, if not I'll have to use pcsx2 for the time being.

haha amazon listing. It says there is an extra graphic chip only for the linux users which makes more complex graphics possible throw linux :D hahaha yeah. I bet the Linux community will jump on this one :D But to be honest for a fake fanboy dreams list it is almost not too unrealistic. Except the two HDMI ports and SSD we could see a lot of that in the final product. The extra graphic chip for linux only is pretty crazy anyway.

I'm thinking of selling my 60GB (upgraded to 250GB) system and going for a newer model when it arrives.

I haven't played a PS2 game on it for close to a year and I still have my PS2. I play PS1 games on my PSP. I sometimes feel like the PS3 is a bit loud when the fans kick into high.

I'd like to think the newer model will be quieter. I doubt I'll miss the PS2 compatibility.

Why trade BC for silence when you could have both?

If you clean the dust and reapply the thermal paste your PS3 should be as quiet as when you bought it, or maybe even more. If you're not the kind of person who likes to do that stuff you could take it to a place that builds PC's.

It's a mere $80 discount. KZ is $50 now and MGS4 $30.

It's the best value in the US market (if you actually like those 2 games) but I wouldn't call a "great" value $320 for a console 3 years into it's life.

PS! I don't really understand the joke. Besides the user uploaded pictures it was Amazon.de themselves that put up the PS3 slim product.

Its the fact that sites believed that the PS3 Slim Picture was an official picture.

Listings for stuff can be on Amazon for years, just check the Blu-RAY products sections fo several movie collections that have yet to and most likely wont receive blu-ray releases for years. (nor any official announcements)

Or the fact that there are games listed that wont be out for at least 3+ years

Yes, but it wasn't listed as an actual item. Once people started submitting their own images and copies of it for sale (lulz), it changes to look like an actual Amazon listing.

For example, this listing for Star Wars on BD is exactly how the slim first appeared on the site. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000PMLFRA/?tag=neogaf0e-20

That listing for Star Wars has been there for years, and there was never a legitimate reason for it to be there in the first time since Lucas says it will be a very long time before the movies ever hit.

they differ by one HUGE point - it is listed as item under official SCE account, and I really doubt that Amazon or someone randon can add listing for existing company as they please.

As a web developer I'm sorry to say that I fucking hate you and people who still use IE6 for no good reason. I can understand corporate requirements, but if you are free to upgrade or use another browser please please please do so.
I'd say that 40% of the time spent of the new version of my site's html/css was lost over IE6's compatibility. I still can't believe how long it took us to find that zoom: 1 bug fix so some elements of the site would stop moving around the layout by themselves (really, they would be in different places every time the page loaded, and resizing the browser window would have them go back in place). Needless to say there is no way in hell the next version of the site will support IE6. I'm not even sure I'll take the time to support IE7.
By I digress, back to the SLIM.
(I still hate you though).

It's not listed under their account. Sony wouldn't have an "account" like a regular vendor that sells through Amazon does. It's just classified as a product by them. It's not definitive one way or another because there are plenty of unannounced and years away games and movies on Amazon that have similar "other products by" labels beneath them that link to all other products from that company.
