Like the NES Mini emulator using HakChi, you can pass through command line arguments when booting a ROM. By using '-boost-fx 3' for instance, it overclocks the emulation of the SuperFX chip and Starfox runs a lot nicer.
As mentioned earlier, if you don't know, it's best to wait for the easy to use tools as it will show you how to use command lines better.
Sounds good, i would love star fox to run better at locked 30fps if possible. What is the best speed for this and does it mess up the audio or anything else?
Instead of using an 8bitdo SN30/SF30, has anyone tried connecting their SNES Classic Controller to a Wiimote and paired it with the 8bitdo receiver as their wireless SNES controller solution? If so how does it feel?
Have there been any updates with this? The retro receiver is tempting but I really want to get (input lag) impressions if possible. Bonus points if you also connect the SNES Classic Controller to PC using the receiver.Interesting...I'll give it a go tonight. Wonder if the home button on the wii mote will return to menu...

I'll record a video later of stage 1 with the boost factor set to 3. (4 and above is where the audio goes screwy)
Stuff I have added that works perfectly
Chrono Trigger
Sim City
Doom
Stuff I have added that doesn't work
Terranigma
Robin, can you try Air Strike Patrol and see if the shadow appears under the jet?I'll record a video later of stage 1 with the boost factor set to 3. (4 and above is where the audio goes screwy)

Thanks! Will be interesting to see if the shadow is there, also wonder if Speedy Gonzales will have the deadlock issue. One of my favourite games as a kid, though I played it as Desert Fighter here in Europe. I'll definitely try it, though I'm at work right now so it will be a while.
Awesome, I recall seeing someone upping the speed for Star Fox & man, it looked soooo much better. That might be something I do when I get mine because that framerate & the fact Star Fox 64 exists hard to revisitI'll record a video later of stage 1 with the boost factor set to 3. Wow, the SNES Junior doesn't even display the shadow properly, and that's hardware..
but i have read many people say the snes jr is effectively emulation of the original hardware in a lot of respects, lots of odd behaviour as a result.
It depends on whether you're in the mood for heavier text and story with turn-based combat (FF6), or lighter story with action game combat (Zelda). They're both good games.OK guys, next on list of shame is either FF6/3 or Zelda.
what do you recommend?

Someone should open a game progression/experiences thread (or LTTP) for the games of Super Nes Mini.
Will I lose my save points when I later do the hakchi mod?

Most of us are better off waiting until Hakchi is updated!
Best feature has to be the idle Mario and Luigi who dive into your save games and you get to see yourself play up to the point where you hit reset. Simply Fantastic!
.
I thought it would be a good idea to have a general LTTP thread reserved for SNES Mini game talk, since this thread tends to be heavily preorder / order / shipping / availability posts and the Stump thread is Super Mario World only. It might be too many threads though.

I only played the GBA version of Yoshi's Island, but absolutely loved it back then. Mario platformers always were my favorite series but having missed out on the entire SNES library I caught up with SMW and YI on GBA.It's been a decade easy since I played Yoshi's Island SNES edition. The game hasn't aged a day! The stuff they do technically combined with the superb art is great! It's so good to play this version again instead of the inferior GBA version the tried shoving down our throats...

What differences/improvements are in the SNES original vs the GBA port?
Doesn't sound like that big of a deal tbh. I'll brush off people hating on the GBA version as elitismThe original SNES one has more screen shown, as the obvious thing.
It also has the classic Yoshi sound effects, before he started talking.
Touch Fuzzy Get Dizzy is a much smoother effect on the SNES.
A set of 6 extra levels were added to the GBA one.

i was allready about to make one but got ditracted and my session time out without me copying the text..
Walmart has yet again double-charged my credit card (pending) for my August 22nd order, except this time the charge has an 800 number in the description. The previous ones didn't. I have no idea what that means.

How does the mod work to add games?
So soldering and stuff?

Ok now we're talking. I'll check it out on the SNES Mini, as I don't think I ever finished it on the GBA (but almost got to the end).Well, the art pops way more, since the gba version had to be designed to compensate with the missing backlights.
My memory also thinks that the fx chip effects were severely downgraded, but that might just be memory.
Oh, and the Ost is more impressive on the SNES.
The hardware seems to have trouble emulating the FX chip at 3, though. The emulation speed (i.e., the audio and all) slows down in parts where there are too many things on screen.
Also, I'm pretty sure changing the FX emulation speed will de-sync the classic demo feature and replays for save states that were made using a different setting.
