Without the reference tracks, I think Drake could get by without even responding because the actual diss track was just alright, especially after taking so long to get here. But Drake has to come back with something now. Still interesting.

But yeah, beat was the best part of the song.

Meek Diss Track

Drake reference tracks that were taken down. If interested.

it really isn't. after that basura it's clear drake is just shadowboxing now. his third diss (if he decides to release) will bury now.

I'm confused. Are people surprised at all about Drake? You know the whole mainstream rap game is full of shit right? I mean, we're talking about Twitter beefs...comn son. Twitter beefs.

Most know, it's just entertainment. Folks starved for some soft drama, imo

Meek's track was kinda ass.

And that Rico reference lmao. Like I said earlier in the thread, no way Meek started this beef because of that. Drake used a few bars at the beginning and that somehow offended Meek? Pretty hard to believe.

"Puffy almost caught a domestic when he Smacked that bitch" LOL

Hardest line of the diss. That one has to sting. But other than that? Weak. You cant be down 3 to 0 and put out shit weaker than Drake has released already. I think Im done with this. Drake is a cornball, but he is clearly out of Meeks league. I can't really stand to see Drake body someone like this lol, shit is completely uncomfortable.

I hope so. There is an IT guy @ work who defends Drake, "he gets bitches tho". I respond, "lesbians always get the girls". New cats love being zombies for the whackest shit these days. I hope this whole thing ends with a picture of Drake kissing another guy or something, then I'd be posting #dead gifs all day long.

That reference track and the Puffy line at the end though.
6/10 but Meeks track is more damaging to Drakes MC (not to be confused with pop) credentials than Drakes diss was to Meeks.

drakes tracks are hotter and at the end of the day hes still a better rapper and record maker than meek but meek wins until drake answers and he needs to talk straight up about the accusations, cuz thats the only weight meek has on these bars. for the record though, reference tracks dont prove anything other than he helped write. does drake have entire verses handed? I #wannaknow

I'd agree that the reference tracks are more damaging. Had Meek put his shit out right after Drakes first diss, then it would've hit better but as it is.. it doesn't equal or surpass Drake's second track. But let's be clear, even Drake's second track doesn't tower over Meeks. I'd put Drakes second diss at about a 7/10 and Meeks at about a 5/10, mostly due to including the reference in it and the Puffy line.

Overall, this whole thing is pretty underwhelming.

At the end of the day, Drake won.

When Nicki breaks up with Mills, he will disappear. This was his chance to hit it huge out of the park and he blew it.

Two lines stood out, and they were glorious. You all know which ones.

Too bad Meek is such a terrible rapper though, can we get someone who can enunciate?

edit: Oh yeah, Drake got pee'd on at a movie theater? LMAO

Track was was a 4/10, mushmouth describes him well. I feel bad for meek mill, he chose a dude who's above him, he's like a flea biting a dogs ass.

Can't feel too bad though. he's the one banging Nicki after all.

I'm from Toronto and I like Drake but these stolen lyrics/ reference tracks can't be defended imo. Disappointing

Meek is still trash though

I already heard some mumbling about the misogyny in Drake's diss, Meek's gonna grab a bit more negative attention I think.

The guy is credited on most of it.

The flow on 10 bands being Quentin's is pretty bad tho IMO. It's possible he literally came up with it for Drake using a style of Drakes tho. Drake certainly performs it better lol.

The verses weren't even the same lol. Meek either has some deeper issue with Drake or he went insane and started a beef over like three bars.

Only one that's sort of a bad look is 10 bands.

I like the concept, I like what he tried to do...but this is more of a miss than a make as a diss record. It feels like a rough draft, like something that should have been taken to an exec producer to tighten it up. Like Puffy, for real. It sounds like it was done in one take, first off, and clearly he needed to do those vocals again because they're sloppy. That plus the Sonny Carson dialogue sample plus the beat switch makes it feel like some mixtape diss - like some poorly thought out Dipset diss aimed at Jay Z circa 2006.

He has a couple good lines but damn, why only let Flex play 4 minutes. This is the first impression. Eh...

That being said, the reference tracks are now out. They've been taken down by Drake's lawyers but will be back up somewhere soon enough. That's the bigger story today, to me. But it seems like folks are just laughing off this track and not even talking about the reference tracks, which is what I feared. The public made up its mind a couple days ago...it's not over sure, but right now I don't think Meek landed the blow he needed.

That shit was at least as entertaining for me as Back To Back (I don't count Charged Up because, shit yall heard it). Reference tracks aside this was still nice. Nowhere near a classic battle (and it shouldn't be, really) but pretty fun though. If niggas think Meek got zipped I'm looking at them sus. And I'm tipping through a 6pack and burning while I write this with the song playing in the background and the more I hear it I think his shit was better. Maybe not as well put together/paced but more hits all together. Back To Back was a better song though. Shit, I play that just for the fuck of it because it sounds nice lol. Meek should have had this the day after BTB. Waiting this long and not coming with some No Vaseline shit can't help him, expectations were waaaay too high.
