So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

Lol chill the fuck out! Its been like 10 days since launch. What exactly did you expect without a preorder

I don't know what weird world you live in where you thought I wasn't chilled out when I typed a regular sounding sentence with no caps lock or exclamation points.

I simply pointed out that there is no stock in Toronto (the point of this thread is to report stock levels), lots of people are looking for them and Nintendo could have made more consoles and therefore, more money. Seems reasonable to me.

I don't even care when I get one. I will buy one as soon as I see one and until then I'll play the 800 games in my backlog on Steam/3DS etc.

Pre orders sold out day 1 here.

I watched the conference, went to sleep and woke up the next day and preorders were already gone. luckily I have a friend who ordered multiple units and gave me one at cost.

Yesterday I went to several stores looking for a pro controller and every time there were people at the Switch displays taking about the system. Would be wise for Nintendo to not be conservative and replenish stock asap cause there seems to be a lot of interest in the system.

Alot of interest in zelda more like.

Everyone I know including me is looking for a Switch and there is nothing anywhere. (Toronto)

There is a lot of cash being missed here by Nintendo no matter what the reason for the understocked situation is.
Get one off Kijiji? There are tons in Toronto listed as low as $480 and possibly can be negotiated down further.

How was the PS4 launch situation?

If I walked into a Walmart at midnight at launch, could I have bought one?

Yeah I didn't reserve a ps4 and neither did most of my friends but everyone decided to buy one at launch day. I won't say we didn't have some difficulty but nobody I knew after a week didn't have one if they wanted it. As I said in my other post, I think not being able to find any, anywhere is absolutely nuts.
I've never bought a Nintendo product, but I've heard this is the norm for them. I'm just blown away, never since the birth of Amazon have I ever had trouble finding something I wanted via internet or store lol.

I'm sorry he ruined your day with his completely normal reaction haha jeez

Because sony have flooded the market with 1 million PS4 and they were sold in less than 24h. A million is a huge number for a single country on release date.

Yeah Sony knew how huge the PS4 would be. I don't think Nintendo had a ton of time to gauge interest post reveal. I mean it had to be the shortest time between reveal and release of any console I can ever remember. It's possible production started late.
But I just feel like this is par for the course with Nintendo. Remember the Wii U GameCube controller adapter? Those were being resold at a huge mark up because for some reason Nintendo couldn't keep up productiion on a cheap 20 dollar adapter.

Nintendo does this with every console release. The time of giving them the benefit of the doubt is long gone.

So about the GameStop bundles. GameStop says for their return policy on online bundles, if you wish to return something from the bundle, the whole bundle must be returned. So don't go into GameStop and expect them to return individual items. If you get lucky and they do, the person doing the returns does not understand the return policy

True but this is the first time I really look at the launch and feel like it was rushed. From the limited software offerings (I get it Zelda is a huge title) to the fairly common hardware issues, it just seems like a little more time would have helped.

Not what I wanted to hear.
I bought the bundle in store, one that was not offered online.
Think that counts too?

Someone needs to create a new thread if best buy releases more tomorrow. Or fucking text me. I have no idea who any of you are, but I'll give you my phone number.

The thirst is real.

Here you can find a Switch everywhere. Only a chain of stores sold out every console (they made Switch + zelda €339). I'm in Portugal.

Apparently san diego has switch in stock via prime now, they've been there for a while.

Damn san diego to hell

Could you return them for store credit without a receipt?

FYI for anyone ordering internationally, my Switch ordered from amazon.es at 12:30AM 3/08 is scheduled for delivery tomorrow 3/13:

The amazon.es order still shows delivery on 3/17, so I'm not sure those dates are to be trusted.

I am also Amazon.es to SLC. Supposed to ship the 10th, but no tracking number yet. Glad to see it will get here quick when they do ship.

People have talked to Nintendo America and they were told that Nintendo America will cover the warranty of European bought Switches.
Would love to see some kinda documentation of this, I'm so thirsty for a Switch that I'll buy it rn

Edit: wish I still worked at Best Buy rn. I would love to know if they're getting a shipment in tomorrow.

I ordered one from the Spain Amazon store, can I just buy a US Switch adapter and be good to go?

Yep, and you don't even have to buy a full new adapter if you don't want. You can buy a plug adapter that changes the European (Type F) plug to a US one. The included adapter will accept the voltage from US wall outlets just fine. You can find these for $5 or less on Amazon.

Demand seems to be pretty high in the US, bunch of friends looking for the switch that haven't had any interest in Nintendo since the wii. Also talked to the bestbuy manager and he said they are getting tons of calls daily for the switch, also a target electronic employee said they were getting a crazy amount of calls for it.

Truth is Zelda and Mario kart 8 should carry sales into this holiday when Mario launches.
