So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

That's on NIS and Capcom/Nintendo (depending on your region), not (solely) Nintendo. Seems like everyone underestimated the purchase power of Switch owners, both Nintendo and third party publishers. Same thing happened in some capacity with Lego City Undercover as well.

actually that's on amazon. it's up to buyers to buy games. publishers are more than willing to sell.

So The switch I bought from amazon came with a scratch directly on the middle of the screen so I just returned it. I only noticed now though that the switches on amazon seem to have some crazy markups for no reason?

When I bought the switch with gray joy con version in April it was $300, now the same version is $423 with nothing added as far as I can see. Am I missing something?

Third party seller.

Mine shipped today! So excited! Recommendations on screen protectors?

I went with the amFilm screen protector, it was highly reviewed and went on pretty well for me. One tiny piece of dust got in under a corner for me, but otherwise it was a good install.

I'm still looking for a good case, in case anyone has any suggestions. Most of the cases have soft sides, which seems baffling to me. I want something rigid to protect that screen.

Apparently no more Switches in Switzerland till the fall. Even Microsoft treated us better, Nintendo.

Shambles.

So, looks like it's true. World of Games, one of, if not the biggest online videogame retailer in Switzerland just moved their shipment from june to august. Others have basically no information at all.

Three months wasn't enough, let's go for five.

I went with this one, at first I wanted something logo free, but after waiting for "the perfect case" and then deciding I didn't really feel like waiting for (or paying the high price) for other premium cases I settled for this one. Has structure, it's tough, holds the Switch straps, game case and cables and fits in my small sling bag.

I just looked on Amazon and saw the same thing. What's the best way to get a Switch in the US at retail price these days?

Yeah I saw that in stock and wish I'd have just bit the bullet. Now the only one even listed anymore is the MK8 bundle with those fucking wheels and charging dock...

For what it's worth Gamestop has a few new Zelda bundles in stock, all gray joy cons. Mario Kart too, but those are neon.

The one I ordered last week shipped yesterday, so I guess I didn't have to wait until the 9th for shipping after all.

This probably isn't the right place to ask this but I have been searching the threads for a general Switch thread for 20 minutes so I'm giving up and am just going to ask in here.

All I want is a recommendation on what power bank, or whatever they are called, to buy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There were two fairly long threads dedicated to this topic.

I ordered that mario kart bundle from gamestop last friday and was told that it would be in today.

I called and they said next friday maybe. wtffffff

I hate this.

May not even be worth it to post this early, but I plan on getting a Switch this fall for Odyssey . . . have there been any indication that stock situations will be normalized by then?

There might be a few moments where they come back into stock for more than a couple of days, but during the holidays, it will probably be difficult to find. Their official projection for the year is 10 million worldwide (rumor: 18 million).

Saw a Switch in the wild for the first time in my area since launch.

I was in a local Best Buy and looking to pick up some eShoo cards. An employer came by and said, "looking for a Switch?", and proceeded to put a single grey unit on the shelf.

I'm like, nope, but I'm sure it won't last long.

Wondering what the stock situation is going to be the Christmas. I can see my kids wanting to get one.

A friend of mine who works for Best Buy told that they have no idea when the next shipment is coming in. So far, they've only received 21 units since release - 16 on launch, 5 a few weeks ago. After that, it's been pretty silent.

I'm hoping that Splatoon 2/E3 bring in restocks. Tried looking around my town and so far it's been pretty silent on all fronts, though I do hear Toys 'R Us gets them in more often than any other retailer.

My local wal mart took the price stickers off the shelf. They said they are tired of getting asked about them and t hey don't expect any systems for several months. They haven't received any since launch.

So weird seeing these posts about countries getting next shipments in August. I can fi d a Switch everywhere in Greece. Went on a Media Markt today and had like 10 Neon sitting there.

The weird thing about my Walmart's is that the same ones receive consistent restocks while many of them have not received any since launch. I wonder if they tried to determine which stores would sell through the stock the fastest

Same in Italy.

Amazon IT has a lot of neon ones while stores like GameStop has good numbers of gray models.

The stock shortage is primarily a US/UK/Fr problem, from what I understand.

Switch is almost always sold out at amazon.de (germany), or online at mediamarkt.de and saturn.de. You find some at stores but they are not available for a long time.

In Japan they have lotteries about who is allowed to purchase a switch.

I don't know the situation in greece, but you find switch consoles in germany too if you are lucky. Markets get new consoles every few days/weeks, but in germany they sell out in a short amount of time. So one stop at mediamarkt doesn't say anything ;)

Haven't seen a single one in the wild in Norway or Sweden. Online, most .no shops appear to have plenty of stock now; a month ago they had none.

Can't you buy one from Amazon Italy or GameStop Italy and ship it to your EU country?

I mean, on Amazon should be possible, right?

AmFilm has been great - $8.99 on Amazon

For a silicone case I recommend the Gametech Black Silicone Case. $21.99 on Amazon

The back is very susceptible scratches. I recommend the Gametech case highly.

Yeah most Norwegian online stores have it. They seem to be selling fast though, managed to snag the last one (Neon) off Teknikmagasinet a few weeks ago.

That's definitely an issue of Wallmarts distribution then and not Nintendos. Pretty scummy move to not ship to lesser performing shops even though they have high demand too.

I saw a family buying one at Best Buy this morning (their kid looked ecstatic which was cool). There was one left. I already have one so I left it and just picked up the last remaining Alm/Celica Amiibo set.

I went to ~5 Best Buys and Gamestops in Manhattan last week, all sold out. Then I went to the Nintendo Store @ Rockefeller just for the sake of it and they had loads of Switches and I grabbed mine.

So if you're in NYC don't even bother going anywhere else, head straight to the N Store.

This month at Best Buy they told me they had no Switches left and that the last one was sold out five minutes prior. But also that they get in a few every week that tend to sell out quickly.

As I was ringing up a PlayStation 4 Pro I saw a Nintendo Switch console box just siting there on a display product shelf next to the register. I thought it was a display box until I felt the weight of it. Then I was casually like "and I'll also buy this"! It turned out that the Best Buy computer stock levels were off by one!!

I'm sure an employee hates you right now.

Not being able to find a console is one thing, but there's not even a fucking controller in stock where I live.

None. No pro controller, no joy-cons. God damn Nintendo, I need more controllers for Mario Kart.
