So, how was CSI New York?

The show seems to have popped up on everybodys favourite downloading network, and it won't come out in Australia until next year, so what's the score?

hey. It's ok. It can't beat the original. The show is too NY, ya know what I mean? I live in NYC, and i want to see a crime drama, not a tourist's guide to the city.

It was okay; Gary Sinise's character was interesting (especially his no-sleep drive) and so was the crime. But that was about it.

The original CSI works so well because from Grissom down every character is interesting (read: has a unique personality) and switching between them keeps the show fresh. CSI:NY (and I'd argue Miami, although I've only seen two episodes) have interesting lead roles and then a bunch of actors that seem to blend into the background.

There's definitely some hope, but It almost feels like ER, where they've just run out of ideas for how new characters might act, and just make up the roles as they go along.

I that is was alright, it's going to take a few more episodes for me to really see if I'm into it. I didn't like the inner feelings of the lead role, his wife dying in 9/11 so he has ties to those feelings when cases under similar idealologies come up. It's just so very overdone in TV nowadays. Do we really need to make it so obvious?

Grissom's ties to those victims and bystanders who are more or less, misunderstood by more common people is far more intriguing I thought. Also Horatio's ties to young children just seems to be given off throughout the series much better so far than the guy in NY and his wife. But it's far too early to figure out the cast just yet.

As far as the above poster, Miami's other characters have their problems, well some at least. The coroner certainly has a problem with giving the victims personalities to the point of feeling attached to them. I can't really think up the other casts offhand at the moment, but I do wonder if they'll make a bigger deal out of Speedles death... also is there any reason why they killed him off?

Anyways, so far nothing has been able to CSI:, the cast is just too great. They all have their specific personalities, they all have their problems, they all are important. There are no minor characters in the main cast. It's just much easier to get into the show on an emotional level and stay interested than NY so far. Miami has done it I think, but not to that extent.

But I'll still give NY a chance, it wasn't bad at all, but it'll certainly take some getting used to.

I must be the only one that likes CSI: Miami more than the original. Horatio is what the show is all about.

In all honesty I seem to flip flop between the two. I love Horatio, and his team works together very well. They never seem to encounter any internal conflicts at all as opposed to Vegas. They seem to fight every week. And Vegas has its dull points when the character's story isn't really progressed at all, but Miami is like that too. So I really seem to jump back and forth between the two.

As far as the actual investigations, Vegas seems to have the more interesting ones more often than not. A lot of them are just plain bizarre. Miami seems to have more or less what you'd expect to see a large city investigating. It's not always as varied I guess.

Anyways, yes, Miami is all about Horatio, he is quite the character. I like the way he goes about things, much more compassionate than Grissom in any case. He often comes off more human. :p

Horatio has a bad case of man boobs and couldnt act if you took away his sunglasses or told him he couldnt put his hands on his hip fer gawds sake.

I can't belive anyone likes that show. Its unfortunate Speedle get's it :( He was my favorite

I can't stand Miami's Horatio... his acting is so over-the-top and I can't imagine a person getting away with that personality on a daily basis without getting hit in the mouth. The most annoying thing is when he accuses a victim of some atrocity, then never apologizes for it. Nah, the worst is when he gets the blatant hero/human moments... gawd I hate him!

Yet I watch.

For my Emily Procter/Calleigh Duquesne fix after she left The West Wing.
