I that is was alright, it's going to take a few more episodes for me to really see if I'm into it. I didn't like the inner feelings of the lead role, his wife dying in 9/11 so he has ties to those feelings when cases under similar idealologies come up. It's just so very overdone in TV nowadays. Do we really need to make it so obvious?
Grissom's ties to those victims and bystanders who are more or less, misunderstood by more common people is far more intriguing I thought. Also Horatio's ties to young children just seems to be given off throughout the series much better so far than the guy in NY and his wife. But it's far too early to figure out the cast just yet.
As far as the above poster, Miami's other characters have their problems, well some at least. The coroner certainly has a problem with giving the victims personalities to the point of feeling attached to them. I can't really think up the other casts offhand at the moment, but I do wonder if they'll make a bigger deal out of Speedles death... also is there any reason why they killed him off?
Anyways, so far nothing has been able to CSI:, the cast is just too great. They all have their specific personalities, they all have their problems, they all are important. There are no minor characters in the main cast. It's just much easier to get into the show on an emotional level and stay interested than NY so far. Miami has done it I think, but not to that extent.
But I'll still give NY a chance, it wasn't bad at all, but it'll certainly take some getting used to.
