I can sort of understand that, as the movie has been raped and massacred in Home-Video.
It simply evokes an entirely different vibe than originally intended, almost entirely sanitized of its horror connotations.
In its original presentation, cinematography and DTS Cinema Track (especially at refence volume on a good home-threatre), JP is still a simply unparalleled experience to this day.
