So like how does Pro Wrestling work?

Pro wrestling works because it's always working. Even when you think wrestling is shooting you're actually getting worked into a shoot by a calculated work shoot. Even when you think you've spotted a worked shoot, you're still getting worked by perceiving the work shoot the way they want you to see the work.

Pro wrestling works because it's always working and its fans are always getting worked. It is the universal truth.

That avatar of Roman Reigns with a foofy Shakespeare collar has never been more apropos.

4. Vince McMahon does not believe people want to see guys who are smaller compete in the ring even though UFC proves otherwise.

Actually, the UFC proves his point. I don't think that many casual fans care about anything below the Welterweight (170lb) division. Possibly even below the Middleweight (185lb) division.

You could put the two best Bantamweights or Lightweights as a headlining show on the UFC and it would probably have fewer viewers than Bobby Lashley crushing some can on Bellator. MMA is just as much spectacle and sports entertainment as pro wrestling is.

And before anyone mentions him: Conor McGregor is a special case. He's successfully run his mouth enough and has backed it up with enough talent to get a big push in a weak division. No-one else in his weight class could get a buyrate over 250,000 unless they were on a reasonably stacked card.

The UFC would be in a lot better position if their fighters knew how to cut promos and to build themselves up like Conor McGregor and Chael Sonnen have. But instead of that, a lot of their fighters just pretend to be athletes and would prefer for you to watch Bachelors in Paradise instead of watching them fight.

Are there any points of reference for any of these statements or is it just rumor and deduction from what we see through the show?

I'd be very interested if someone has out and out said these things about Vince on a podcast. I watched the Edge documentary and JR mentions that he was a VERY unliked person through portions of his career, however doesn't talk shit on Vince at all.

That guys post is typical jaded wrestling fan smark bs. Vince made wrestling what it was in the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and today. It's a worse product than it was at times in the past so jaded fans blame everything on Vince and while he has a lot to do with its fade, he's a lot smarter than most fans give him credit for.

Pro wrestling is basically a superhero comic. Muscly people who solve all problems via violence, major "event" storylines that are supposed to change everything, characters that are completely redone in order to gain popularity, retcons out the wazoo, obscure references to stuff only hardcore fans would understand, attempts to push someone as the next big thing but then they just go back to Cena/Superman, etc. Oh, and costumes. The interesting thing is that since these are actual people playing these roles, they have a limited shelf life. Imagine if Batman had to retire after twenty years and they could LITERALLY not make any more Batman comics. They would have to figure out who could be the next superhero that's as popular as Batman. Also what if that guy failed a drug test (the Justice League has those right?)?. And then what if Booster Gold comics started to sell a lot, but you really want Green Lantern to be the next Batman? Also what if one superhero is popular, but in every issue he just keeps getting his ass kicked? What would happen to him?

You can't disparage wrestling and then praise The Avengers CAUSE IT'S THE SAME

I watch now and then but I would watch a lot more if ECW was still around.

The crazy ass stunts were always my favorite thing about Pro Wrestling.

NXT is the best thing being done under the WWE umbrella and it's only an hour a week with a two hour special event every two or three months..

If they are Dutch, upright and breathing they are more racist than your favorite player
Pro wrestling is the modern day circus. Just think of it that way.

What you see is very real, and very dangerous, but not necessarily in the way its being presented to you.

Absolutely pathetic part deux

Lucha Underground is the modern ECW so you should watch that. It is perhaps a combo of that and WCW's Light Heavyweight Division making it the best wrestling show on american television.
