So... Tupac was evil?

That's what the new documentary on VH1 made it seem like last night. I was always under the impression that Biggie was the "bad guy" in all of that. Mostly because he doesn't get the same kinda reverence as Pac (Some would argue that he does, but that's not the way the "public" sees it)

Also, when people speak of Tupac they make it seem like he was Moses or something. I always thought that he was a punk kid asking to get tagged with a bullet. And judging from this documentary, I was correct... to an extent.

they were bought retards that died because of the retarded lifestyle they preached. Just two statistics..

tupac was a talented guy, but let himself get caught up in all the deathrow "gangsta" bullshit just to sell records and please Suge Knight. That wasn't him. Like Ice T said in that documentary, he was stupid for living out the stuff he rapped, rather than rapping about the stuff he lived.

Yeah, Gangsta rap died when they did pretty much. I guess people realized that being a thug and being shot wasn't as "cool" as they thought.

Kinda, maybe, sorta off on a different tangent, but I saw a documentary about Tupac a while back, and as a youngster I was absolutely amazed at how thoughtful, articulate and intelligent he was. Seemed totally like he wanted to send out a good message and in his own way, change the world for the better... then juxtaposed with footage of him in his prime -- all swagger, swearing, misogyny and drugs.

Real interesting, and kinda sad (in my opinion anyway) to see such a contrast between what he was, and what he became, for better or for worse.

No doubt he was a massive talent.

Actually Tupac in highschool was sort of drama nerd who turned thug when he reached the west coast.
Anyway this will probably said a lot in this thread, Hip-Hop hasn't ben the same without him.
However Jay-Z has filled Big's role very well.
