So um... Did Lupe just murder the Rap Game in the first month of 2015?

Ah okay. I really liked Body of Work. Deliver's dope but I could do without the chorus. I'll pay more attention to the others you mentioned.

I'm usually with you on excessively long songs (especially when the beat doesn't switch up) but for some reason this works for me. Like, there's no filler at all. Didn't realize the sample was being heavily passed around now. lol it's always weird when that happens (guess clearance went through for everyone at the same time ). Who else is using it?

Some mixtapes, some albums.

Not really into hip hop (only have a couple drake albums and a couple of others), but this shit is DOPE.

Chopper, Blur My Hands, Mural...

IT'S ALL SO GOOD.

Did somebody really just try to test somebody's hip hop cred on NeoGAF.com, in a Lupe Fiasco thread, by quoting a song from last year?

Fall is definitely by favourite section on this album. I always thought Lupe just fell off as a rapper, but it's clear that the record label was the main reason why his last two albums sucked.

Lol. I've looked up multiple lists of Best Ofs just to make sure I wasn't missing anything and at the end I'm like...

B4DA$$ was for people who never experienced the 90s but still want to pretend. How do you not listen to him talking about people jacking his style and not bust out laughing? His entire existence is a pastiche of shit his heroes did better. Still, a couple of songs showed a glimmer of talent. Too bad it's buried under silliest persona this side of Chris Gaines.

Badass is such a plain, completely uninspired listen. There is nothing unique. If you do a throwback album, at least make it a nice attempt.

It's alright but nothing special, I'll give it some more listens in hopes it grows on me but for right now , is this album murdering anything?

I am listening to the album backwards, the man is impressive,

I had a friend explain to me the golden means reference in dots and lines too.

Impressive. Still not smart enough to be a Lupe Stan :[

I can't get over "PIZZA MAN DON'T COME HERE NO MO". Hilarious. What's funnier is how the dude singing at the end starts breaking the hook down. LOL. The song actually makes astute observations but it sounds like a damn parody. Too deep for me, I guess!

Thanks. I'll listen to these later. See which I like better.

Pizza man, peace of man
, tomato, tomahto

i wasn't really digging that song at first either, but it's growing on me

if anyone else here tried to hear lupe and felt their swag/waviness levels deplete lemme help you out

that's the thing bout lists though...did you listen to the names/albums off em? PS i appreciate getting this reply in stereo, haha

sorry but I have to ask. why hip hop fans use expressions like "murdering the rap game" unironically?

if you meet the buddha on the road, kill him

Bruh, January of last year had Step Brothers and Cilvia Demo.

goddamn, last year's january was such hot shit in comparison, forgot about this

I wouldnt say Tetsuo is better than The Cool, as collectively the concept of the cool is great and pretty choesive, with all the other "things" he raps about among that overarching theme.

Tetsuo is a legitimate worthy follow up to The cool, and honestly, Lamers and F&L II, as far as im concerned are just experimental/supplemental albums.

Tetsuo & youth is GREAT. And i had lost a lot of faith in lupe after Lasers. Man i hate lasers.

Dots & Lines is one song I don't get, except for the fact he's talking about not signing to a major label.
