So, What About a Dungeon Crawling Zelda?

So, I've seen some here being critical that the newer Zelda games, specifically the 3D ones, have very little dungeon time and focus more on the outdoors.

But, what would you think of a dungeon crawling Zelda game? A game that mainly focuses on and ever descending dungeon or something to that degree where it focuses less on the outdoors? How would that be implemented and what would you think about it?

I thought the new one that came out in September was back to roots style like the OG's, Is that not the case?
It goes back to its roots but it's not a dungeon crawling game.

By dungeon crawling, I mean the game mainly focuses on the dungeon and a lot less on the outside if at all.

A very good example of this would be the Wizardry series. The original Dreamcast Phantasy Star Online was also basically a dungeon crawler.

I don’t think they have to totally forget the overworld, they used to put all kind of secrets And hidden things in the overworld. Then you had elaborate dungeons to deal with too.

The switch versions have gotten completely away from the series core and they were just not fun to me.
The OG ZELDA, a link to the past, were two of the greatest games of all time.

Botw and tears of the kingdom are very different games and for me personally, are boring and don’t capture the Zelda feel.

I hear you, my guy. They're far from being bad games and they can be a lot of fun but the huge open world wilderness and all this weapon breakage bullshit has kind of got me fed up.

I'm with you. Bring back the original Zelda style.

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
That would be awesome actually.

There was something similar to that in Twilight Princess. In the desert, remember? It was fun.

I think people want a Zelda Dark Souls style game. I think that would be cool, but I don't see Nintendo doing it.

I would like a Zelda game with bigger dungeons in 3d. Hopefully we can get that on the Switch 2.

I love FROM games but I really don’t want Zelda go to “souls-like” route (I hate that word).

What I like about Echos of Wisdom is gives nice freedom but limits you that dungeons and bosses still fun to do.

Its about finding the right balance, too much dungeon crawling would take from the feelin of adventure Zelda is known for, but Skyward Sword and Spirit Tracks/Phantom Hourglass experimented with what you described, and i think the Four Sword Adventures spinoff as well.

with mixed results imo, but im a fan of SS and ST, not much the other two

Zelda Echoes of Time is also the most 'traditional' Zelda game since A Link Between Worlds despite adding fresh mechanics of its own and im currently playing it, its very good thanks to its traditional dungeon design lacking in the open world games, and i like how it has less filler
