So what was the big problem with Green Lantern Rebirth?

Just finished up all six issues and the first issue of the regular. I have always been a Johns fan, and like many many many many others Hal will always be Earth's best green lantern. so calling me biased is like calling the pope catholic. that being said, why did/do some of you say that Rebirth ended weak? If anytyhing IMHO it started off weaker (loosely tied together, slightly incoherent, etc) than it finished. Anyway, as my first comics read in 9 months (give or take) I just feel I could have done a lot worse (any of the supermans).

A lot of people had issues with a couple of the minor plotpoints near the end.

Hal flooring Batman with one punch mainly upset some folks.

I personally loved the series and thought it was a great read.

The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
I'm glad to have Hal back because I loved the character... on the other hand I thought his initial turn to Parallax was great... and the idea that the yellow impurity and Hal's issue were caused by a creature imprisioned in the main battery all this time well... a bit hard to swallow....

Then again I have issues with OMAC Project too... as much as I love the idea why hasn't Batman used the super satellite before to help him solve issues, track down folks, etc... I mean there's so many stories over the years that could have been affected by such a piece of tech... that it's hard to just now act like it's been up there all this time.... even still I'm curious to see where OMAC Project ends up....

They brought Hal back?

Perhaps DC isn't filled with brain-dead monkies working at typewriters, like I originally thought.

How do they ever explain the stupid "Hal went nuts and killed everyone, absorbed all the power in the universe, died, then became the Spectre" stuff away, then?

In a nutshell, The impurity in the rings all these years was actually caused by a creature called Parallax that the Guardians had imprisioned in the main power battery... some shit about it feeds on fear, etc., etc.... anyway slowly over the years it corrupted Hal gained more control became him...

So basically the old I wasn't in control of myself excuse.

And, to be fair, not everyone is so trusting of Hal still. I'm relatively sure we'll be seeing another "rematch" between him and Bats.

Thats what made it a letdown for me...though I shoulda known they would use that cop-out.

How did Kilowag come back, btw?

You know what? I honestly don't remember... my reading of the regular Green Lantern book while... regular... had been a bit splotchy in terms of remembering core details....

IIRC Kyle went to the place that Kilowog's spirit had been condemed to and dragged his ass out.. or something like that.
