So what's going to be Blizzard's next game?

Aside from Ghost, what do you think they're working on? It seems like they release their games in a 2 year cycle, so we can probably expect one in 2006. Do you think it will be a sequel to Diablo or Starcraft? Or maybe something else entirely?

To be honest, as long as its not WarCraft, it should be OK. I think I've had enough of WC for now, bring on more StarCraft or another Diablo, or both (considering they have TWO studeios and Blizz North has been quiet for sometime now)!

wow expansion pack

and i remember hearing the diablo2 team was working on a brand new franchise.

does anyone know if the studio that made wow was a new one? i think i read they assembeled a brand new team to tackle the size of the project. that would leave blizzard with 3 studios with 2 unannounced titles. starcraft2 probally be the last one.

The only new RTS I would accept from Blizzard is StarCraft 2. I always like the world of SC more than the world of WC and I'd just like to see more of it. Ghost has been in development forever now, but maybe when that comes out it'll satiate my need. But if doesn't, Blizz better have a sequel lined up to come out within the next year or two!

Can you image a world of SC game. Would totally own SWG.

I'd be a lot more interested in "World Of Starcraft" than I would be in WoW, that's for sure. There's too many damn medievil fantasy MMORPGs out there.

My frothing demand for Starcraft 2 only grows with each passing month.

With the implementation of the new hero system in WC3... I can only imagine what they'll do in SC2... prolly some amazing... AMAZING... mass production/control schemes. It'll be amazing.

Naw. World of Starcraft wouldn't be nearly as cool as world of warcraft. The enviroments needed for World of Starcraft would be too barren in comparison to what is offered in WoW. I wouldn't want to see post apocalypitc style enviroments in a MMORPG.

Anyway, from what I have heard Diablo III is next. Starcraft 2 I WISH was on the development table but who knows...!]

Hey, have you actually played Starcraft? There are more than one environment in the game, you know. Jungle, ice, ashworld, spaceports, deserts and so on. And if they can't get those environments together on one planet, they might as well make it so that you can travel between different planets. It would kind of make sense to be able to do that. :P

StarCraft DS....

I would rather a new starcraft game on PC (unless your fictitious starcraft is not a port)

Also a new Diablo game would have me buying a gaming PC, unless it comes to next gen consoles.

The one thing I love about blizzard is they take the time to make true squeals, no half assed yearly updates.

i've already said it a few times and I'll say it again... World of Starcraft.

World of Starcraft, as cool as the idea is wouldn't work. The starcraft universe isn't fleshed out enough to base a MMORPG on.

Starcraft: Ghost
WOW Expansion
Starcraft II
Starcraft II Expansion
Diablo 3
Diablo 3 Expansion
New Franchise
New MMORPG

Considering Starcraft is the last of the trifecta of Blizzard franchises to get a sequel, along with the fact that they have confirmed that they're working on a sequel, it's pretty obvious that we'll see Starcraft II before anything else.

They should just release another expansion for Starcraft. The graphics are fine and don't need to be updated. In fact, if they did update the graphics to 32 bit color or whatever, they game would look worse. A great example of this is Heroes of Might and Magic 3, which looks terrible compared to the basic art and colors of HOMM 2. You don't need 3d wiz bang effects.

Starcraft is still popular today all around the world. Because the game doesn't require a monster computer it helps the popularity and being available on the MAC also helps. I'd port it to Linux for good measure.

Price the expansion for $20 and a second bundle that has Starcraft, Brood War, and the new expansion for $35 for those that still haven't tried this great game.

Diablo III. Guaranteed.

There is no StarCraft II in development at this time. WoW expansion is a possibility, seeing as they have the next 5 years worth of storyline already set.

Star Craft could be in development, the WC3 team didn't all move over to WoW, did they? As far as I know, a completely seperate teams worked on WoW and WC3, leaving the WC3 team free for the last year+ to be working on something else.

Then there's the Blizzard North guys, who also may have split in to two teams. Possibly Diablo 3 and something new?

Yes, I have. I've played the hell out of Starcraft and Warcraft. As a strategy game, I absolutely love Starcraft. My favorite RTS. Protoss enviroments might be decent, but Terran and Zerg enviroments would be fairly barren. It could be cool, however, if all the enviroments are fairly unchallenged when you start and get worse and worse as the fighting goes on. Plus Starcraft doesn't have anything close that can match the beauty of the Night Elf race and their forest enviroments.

Anyway, we don't need another MMORPG based on a Blizzard franchise. We already got one. And it rocks. So Blizzard get to work on Starcraft 2! The RTS everyone is waiting for! :D

I may be wrong, but after WC3 was done, I thought I read half the team moved to WoW while the other half worked on finishing The Frozen Throne. Then after TFT was completed the rest fo this team moved to finishing WoW. I wouldn't be surprised if the team has been split again, some working on WoW and the expansion to WoW while some other members working on something new. Hopefully Starcraft 2 but from what I keep on hearing Diablo 3 is the safest bet for the next blizzard release.

I'm pretty sure blizzard is still blizzard north and blizzard irvine. and their next game will probably be an expansion to WOW, then diablo 3.

Diablo 3, please. Thank you.

StarCraft II is almost tied, but I'm so damn sick of RTS games. I definitely wouldn't want WC3 with a palette switch...perhaps more Dawn of War; small scale, super detailed units and such... Blizzard isn't really known for pure innovation, but their polish, perfection, and gameplay skills are top notch. So I guess I'm waiting for some kind of revolution in the RTS world to happen, and Blizzard to then capitilize on it.

The only announced (and thus confirmed) game mentioned in this thread is Ghost. I personally feel that it's going to surprise and please a great number of people when it comes out. Who knows when that will be tho. :lol

What part of "StarCraft 2 is not currently in development" do you people not understand??

Diablo 3. Guaranteed.

As much as I want SC2, its not in the cards right now. They haven't even begun pre-production on it yet.

Probably a new Diablo game, although I don't know what direction they are going to take it. Given what happens at the end of LoD, I don't know if the same RPG type game would work for it. It's would be in the middle of some huge battle with heaven and hell, maybe some pseudo RTS-RPG type thing.

A new Starcraft would be so cool though, with graphics as good or better than Dawn of War or Battle for Middle Earth.. wow. It'll definitely be made, theres almost no doubt, they'd be fools not to. Hopefully it'll be soon.

I'd also like to see them start up a new series, doesn't matter what genre as long as it has a good setting and plot.

Starcraft 2. If the next product they announce is NOT Starcraft 2, someone will die, and will continue to die each day afterwards until they make Starcraft 2.

They need a port team to do Starcraft and Diablo 2 for the DS, and Warcraft III for the PSP.

Couldnt they just port the N64 version of Starcraft wit enhancements? There was one, right?

It isn't happening anytime soon. :/ Perhaps Blizzard is burnt out on RTS game making right now. Let them work on something else and then get ready for Starcraft 2. I'd rather have a great game than a good one because of them being burnt out on making RTS games.

Any time spent on SC2 is better than any time NOT spent on SC2.
