Some Playstation Experience games and developers announced

For all intents and purposes, there are no two separate teams at Naughty Dog. Everyone works on both projects. On some days, they'll put more work in one project and on others, about an equal amount for both. Nobody stays exclusive on one project

The bulk of the work force gets sucked into the main project, while a reasonably small team (30? 40?) is in charge of the early stages (pre-production) of a new title. Once the first game launches, resources are shifted towards the second one..rinse and repeat!

Shinobi said Kill Strain isn't Bend's game.

I didn't know this :/
Still... Kill Strain doesn't sound like it would fit "Horizon" so i prey that's not the Games final Name. Kill Strain is also the last Trademark that wasn't shown yet, we had Hungry Horde, Bloodborne and Entwinded and Kill Strain. Excited to find out what it could be.

Honestly I feel like it's a bit too early for any new big 1st party announcements. They have so much they need to show for already announced projects anyway. Mainly Gravity Rush 2, Ratchet PS4 (not 1st party really) and Uncharted 4. In addition to those Bloodborne and The Order are releasing very soon. I feel like that is already a huge amount to cover if they can share new footage for each of those games. Save Guerilla, SSM ect. for E3 or at least let the onslaught that is February pass before giving any spotlight to new projects.

This is a stealth begging post for GR2 info

edit: almost forgot Until Dawn.

SSM next game is still early in development.
Looks like you won't see anything from them in 2015. Even SSM said that.
Only co-production stuff, like The Order: 1886, etc.

True. I just meant it as an example. Stuff like GT PS4 and Bends game are probably out before God of War 4 or whatever.

Sony is publishing the game and owns the Ratchet IP. It might not be developed by one of its Worldwide Studios, but it's first-party.

SSM game is far off, they scrapped one big game and just hired Barlog not long ago.

Bend were working on a new Vita game, then scrapped that to move onto a PS4 game, so that is far off too, lets not forget the team is not as big as a normal AAA studio. If they do have a game soon it would be a PSN game, if it's a AAA game ten it is also far off.

Mm are porting Tearaway, also LBP3 is coming out, if they have another Play, Share, Create game, I'm sure they would want to announce it a good while after LBP3, or even their own game Tearaway Unfolded. So again that is far off.

The only big game that makes sense to be revealed soon, is Guerillla Games New IP, which has been in development sometime after Killzone 3, as Guerilla Games has two teams. Also wasn't there a rumour that they had a trailer ready but decided to not show it.

Of course we still have The Last of Us (lol), Gran Turismo 7 (I reckon it will be a while before they show that, atleast until E3) and maybe Gravity Rush 2 has been switched to be a AAA game for PS4 instead of Vita.

um, am i late on noticing this and misunderstanding the quote on gamestop's PS4 page?

http://www.gamestop.com/ps4

one would assume it means PS Now but in that case you wouldnt be downloading the games, but streaming them instead, no?

Good catch.

That would fit the rumors we already had.
It would also fit the anniversary and it was feature already available on the PS3, so why should Sony avoid another method of getting money for nearly no amount of work.

I'm honestly not expecting any major new game announcements during this event. I think it's going to be a platform to show off new footage and details of already announced games. As others have stated, there's still games like Ratchet & Clank PS4, MLB 15, and Uncharted 4 that we've either seen nothing of, or next to nothing of that should get some spotlight.

Even if this ends up being the case, it should still be an awesome show. Sony as a publisher already has one hell of a line-up for 2015 (The Order, Bloodborne, MLB, Ratchet, Tearaway, Until Dawn, Uncharted 4, Rime, Tomorrow Children, etc.) and the PlayStation Experience is an incredible opportunity to hype it on a massive scale. Even more big new games might almost be overkill.

I'd expect E3 next year to be when we finally see what a bunch of the other first parties have been working on. Probably something like Bend's new game for fall/holiday season to supplement Uncharted and Horizon announced for early 2016 (much like how they did LittleBigPlanet 3 and Bloodborne this past E3). There will probably a major first party game announced for Morpheus to serve as the flagship release for launch (Media Molecule, maybe?).

Honestly, I'd be happy with just gameplay of Uncharted 4, R&C, Persona 5 (doubt it, though) and a new demo of The Order. Anything else would be a bonus.

Shinobi said that Bend's game would most likely be out by next year.

Oh, I forgot about this. I don't think many people saw this.

Hmmmmm...

Idk, to me, this sounds like they're ready to show their game but they have to wait until Sony lets them....or maybe they just want to go to the event lol.

Ehh what.
Bend is working on that horror open world title

I can't remember where the information came from, but supposedly Bend started work on a new Vita game after releasing Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Story goes that after seeing the Vita fail to take off, the project was cancelled by Sony and Bend began work on a PS4 game sometime in late 2012.

It seems a lot of people are expecting/ are hopeful for some Uncharted gameplay. How have previous Uncharted games rolled out info like that? So far they've shown two teasers. I would think the next step would be to show a full trailer with maybe some gameplay in it and then later down the road (e3) show the gameplay demonstration.

Did uncharted 2 and 3 go from teasers straight to gameplay demos?

Cory announced his return 15 months ago.

They're expanding Tearaway, LBP3 has little to do with them, and they've been working primarily on their new PCS game since finishing LBP2. Tearaway was a smaller side project and they outsource a lot.

There's been various of random hints directly from them about showing the game very soon before the event was announced.

The game is on the banner of the blog post, it's right at the top of the "Experience New and Unreleased Games" section which happens to be full of games that will either be playable or will show gameplay footage at the event.

I can't imagine them not showing any kind of gameplay footage at this point.

Awesome, thanks for the info.

I think it really depends on how far along Naughty Dog is with development. Here's what the timelines looked like for previous games:-

Uncharted 2
December 2008 - Teaser (30 Second Snowstorm Cinematic)
May 2009 - Gameplay Montage
June 2009 - Gameplay Demo (The incredible E3 stage demo)

Uncharted 3
December 2010 - Initial Trailer (Cinematics + Gameplay)
December 2010 - Gameplay Demo (Burning building demo on Jimmy Fallon)
June 2011 - Second Gameplay Demo (E3; hello water physics)

The Last of Us
December 2011 - Teaser (CG)
June 2012 - Gameplay Demo (Crazy AI E3 demo)

Would someone please answer this:

What is this event exactly?

Is it a conference, a press event, a developer workshop?

They seem to be all over the place defining what this is going to be.

M is Dying Light and Not is Battlefield: Hardline.

I think G is The Order. That particle effect system looks like the scene where they melt that metal thing which is blocking the door after the street shootout.

Is could be Grim Fandango?

EDIT: Didn't see the Grim bit, sorry.

My friend Michael suggested that since the VGA/X will be a day before the PlayStation experience they could possibly show an Uncharted 4 trailer there, and at the PSX they do a gameplay demo.

Also Uncharted 2 was teased at the VGA's and gameplay was shown at E3 the next year. This exact cycle happened with Uncharted 3. Uncharted 4 was teased at VGX last year, and again this E3. So it's almost been twice as long. So it's safe to say there is a good chance there will be an Uncharted 4 demo this year.

It was different for Uncharted 3. Uncharted 3 had a gameplay debut on Jimmy Fallon before E3

eitherway with ~1 year away from release, the previous 3 uncharted games had gameplay demos. bodes well for the idea of a gameplay demo in early december
