I said that but it seems the Venetian(Venue for the event) and Sid Shuman(PSBlog) are contradicting each other.

The Venetian says its the first 5500 in line while Sid Shuman said on stream its the first 5500 to procure a ticket.

Somebody should ask for clarification once and for all.

Also, I bought a 2-day pass and there wasn't a ticket number anywhere in the order confirmation.

Thats going to be a fun watch. It better be streamed. And they better have some decent E3 sized reveals to keep them happy. Dont be some VGX level shit.

Hope it's Shawn. He's too rare an appearance, and he needs to redeem his mediocre E3 showsmanship. It's not like he's a poor public speaker, so it'd be nice to hear him talking about games proper, instead of PSNow and PSTV.

It'll be streamed I bet but we'll get that really terrible director doing crowd shots in the middle of a super important reveal. Sony giveth and Sony taketh away

With such huge event at the end of the year, can we assume that Sony gives again the middlefinger to VGA/X ? Seems like they want their own show to pump out some trailers and maybe surprises.

We don't know exactly what's going on with the VGX right now. Keighley tweeted a few days ago that "it's time for something new". So i'd guess whatever they're oding is different from the VGA or VGX. So i'm also not sure where that'd leave the show.

When was the last time you saw on IGN an article about a PS4 game that is not copy/paste info from the PS Blog?

As for Geoff - he will have some content to show for sure.

166 games released on the platform so far. Sony needs to talk about them. The media will talk about whatever they want to talk. Nothing better than an event like this. Tho I am liking the changes.....more PS blog, more Youtube, more Twitter, less filters - more direct.

Having the show air on TV was the main draw. If it turns into an online-only event, then Sony would not gain anything from having its games premiere there.

Why are people getting excited for Sucker Punch being there. There's no way they have anything to reveal as they would of only been working on something new for 6 months. Probably just on the panel.

There is maybea handful of franchises I'd say that about, but they have such a solid new base with Second Son, I just want to see them take it further, just in terms of content.

I suspect you're right.

I imagine they've only just tied down what they want to work on next.
 
If they were still working on inFamous DLC, I'd figure they wouldn't had laid off their staff.

Plus we know that they're pretty dedicated to the concept of a one-team-studio with the entire workforce focused on one project-at-a-time, and last we heard, they were hiring concept artist and all that.

Seems to still be pretty early. I'd reckon we'll get a panel from them, and at best, a two word tease of their next project. ( like confirming it's a new IP, or it's fantasy, or whatever)

So far we know there'll be:

  1. A Keynote speech/conference
  2. Loads of hands on time with Sony and 3rd party games
  3. New game announcements for PS4 and Vita
  4. Streams of this everywhere
  5. Panels
  6. Q&A slots

All in the run up to Xmas. Seeing as the VGX looks to be dead, Sony will have mindshare and the media talking exclusively about this for a long time. Next year is PlayStations 20th anniversary so you can bet there'll be a few surprises in store. Believe!

I'd be only excited for a standalone DLC if Cole returns. I want next gen Lighting powers. If not Cole at least a character with a different power to the ones from Second Son.

If it doesn't show up beforehand, the PS4 version of Beyond is definitely going to appear. But it'd be nice if we get a look-see at an actual new project from Quantic.
 
I think either the next God of War or GT7 will be teased. They're only Sony's biggest IPs, along with Uncharted and now TLoU.
