Looks pretty sweet, every so often there is something cool that still comes out of Dreams.

Wish it would come to PC, just so that some of these creations could be archived before the Nintendo assassins lawyers come for it.

Too bad Sony never bothered wanting to port LBP or Dreams to PC. And everyone knows PC is the platform for creative communities and mods.

But Sony probably wanted MM's creative games to be a unique pull to PS. So any PC gamer who likes to make their own games would buy a PS and use a gamepad to make games vs a kb/m on PC.

Given how good this looks relative to Odyssey, a game that had millions of dollars behind it, is pretty sad.

Odyssey had garbage star placement, art direction, and half the maps suck.

There's a difference between objectivity and subjectivity. What you are all saying is your subjective and valid opinions...but to say a 15 minute fan made mockup is objectively "better" than Odyssey, as in "would review and sell better than", Odyssey is absolutely ridiculous.

That's cool and all, but I never said it was better than SMO. I just wasn't a big fan of it and find it very overrated. You had New Donk City with the people and cars and that just isn't Mario for me, I didn't dig that.

This Dreams creation shows how I want Mario levels to look like, with the stuff out of the older Mario games. I do get the need of trying out new things though, can't blame Nintendo for that.

That absolutely can and they will, they're Nintendo. Nintendo lawyers get paid to shoot down anything they can with an enthusiastic hate boner.

Back to Dreams, stuff like this really shows they were onto something. All they needed was a PC release, import/export options and a storefront at launch and I truly believe Dreams would have taken off. Maybe drop a multiplayer component as an update.

Afaik the original plans were for content creators using Dreams to ultimately be able to use it professionally, like selling their own games in PS Store and such.

There were already people who used it professionally and it was allowed to use art and music for commercial ends outside of Dreams.

It just never really resulted in anything substantial for whatever reason.
Probably mostly due to legal stuff.

He isn't selling it for money. It's a free game. Hardly any assets are stolen, either. No IP theft here.
