I know this has some politics, but everyone uses youtube so I figured it was news. It seems youtube has taken some kind of measure against review bombing, such as the Joe and Kamala Lie campaign ad, which had a ratio of 3.5/6.5 and an entirely different comments section, compared to now, where dislikes don’t even hit 1K. As one guy puts it

Combined with crowder getting remonetized, is anyone here noticing this trend on other channels as well? It’s unfortunate that all this stuff has spilled over onto regular creators, and hopefully this is part of bringing things back to how they were in the first place

i dont understand
kind of like how people review bomb games on websites, a similar thing happens with dislikes on YT, which can mess with views a video gets. It looks like things are getting cleaner...maybe. I’m asking if people notice an improvement

YouTube seems desperate.
Unskipable long ads, multiple ads, ads when skipping.... ads, ads, ads.

I will avoid every single thing they will ever advertise to me. Money well spent losers.

Esp that e toro (?) ad with this Baldwin (?) actor.
Yes, I will skip your stupid ad for all eternity.
Idiot.

Yeah, they're desperate for you to pay for the ad free version. Just use an adblocker on PC, or if you're using a Firestick, or whatever, download an ad free version of the app. Takes 2 minutes.

You need a youtube ad blocker.

I have noticed they're recommending more conservative style content the past couple of weeks. I thought it was just the algorithm.

I'm dead serious when I say YouTube premium is the best money I spend every month.

I watch an ungodly amount of YouTube and never having to see an ad is a real pleasure

Still waiting for a good Youtube alternative.
You're probably not going to want to hold your breath for that, and of the companies that would have the resources to do it, I doubt many of them would create a platform to your liking (i.e. it's going to be a lot like YouTube.)

I know his politics probably run against the grain here, but Dan Olsen has a pretty good run down of the obstacles here:

Its like even from the start people wanted Amazon and Ebay alternatives but everytime someone tries they fail.

Youtube's audience, at least for politics, skews older/conservative. The conservatives get a ton more views than the liberals. This is probably just Youtube realizing that getting paid is priority #1. They can safely leave the election tampering to Twitter where all the bluehairs reside.

I use the Brave browser on android to watch YouTube and get zero adds. Might be something to consider.

Thanks for the tip, but it's not compatible with my tv.

What I do like about youtube is that I can easily select on laptop and view on tv via the 'watch later' playlist.
